Important Reminders
Our teachers have a full day of professional training on Friday, November 1, so there will be no school for students. Also a reminder that Monday, November 11 is the Veterans Day holiday, so there will also be no school.
Halloween
We are excited to have a Halloween parade on Thursday, October 31 that winds its way around the lower campus blacktop and field along the sidewalk.. The parade will be led off by our TK students at 8:35am and then continue up the grades and be closed out by our 5th grade students. We ask that our TK students be dropped off by the office on that day rather than on the upper campus.
Our parade will leave campus on the Euclid side and re-enter campus (after walking along the fence line/sidewalk) at Vera Ave. Parents will be allowed on the lower blacktop but will not be allowed further onto campus. While it is free dress, students should consider bringing a change of clothes, especially if their costume will distract them from learning.
Students who do not wish to participate in the parade will be able to go to the library, where they will be supervised until the parade is over (around 9:15am).
A couple of reminders about Halloween costumes:
no weapons
no scary masks
no fake blood
Community Invited to Board Study Session on Upcoming Budget Reductions
Redwood City School District (RCSD) invites all families, staff, and community members to tune in for the upcoming Board of Trustees Study Session, where discussions on budget reductions for the 2025-26 school year will take place. Superintendent Dr. Baker will provide an update on the Budget Renewal Initiative Process, outlining the financial challenges ahead as federal and state pandemic-related funds come to an end.
This session is part of RCSD’s commitment to transparency and community engagement. The district is seeking input through its Budget Renewal Initiative, a process designed to gather feedback from the entire school community on prioritizing student services. The Board Study Session will take place Wednesday, October 30, at 6:00 pm. You can join the session from home by accessing the agenda and meeting details here.
Don’t forget to share your thoughts by completing the district-wide survey. Your input will help shape the final recommendations presented to the Board of Trustees in December.
