Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
Today is International Day of People with Disability. This day aims to promote awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability.
This year’s theme, ‘Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future’, recognises the important role that people with disability play in creating a more inclusive and sustainable world for all.
Cartwright PS, as you may be aware, will be marking this special day tomorrow, as most of our year 6 students have been engaged in High School Orientation activities today.
On another note, as this school year nears an end, the school is a buzz of activity organising end of year events as follows for your reference:
· Wednesday 4 December 2-3pm: CPS Talent Quest in the school hall
· Friday 6 December: Ebony Day- Year 6 fundraising event
· Wednesday 11 December 9:30-11am: Year 6 graduation Assembly at CPS
· Thursday 12 December 5:45-8:30pm: Year 6 Farewell at Liverpool Catholic Club
· Thursday 12 December: PBL Reward Day
· Friday 13 December 9:30-11am: CPS Presentation Day at Miller Technology HS
· Tuesday 17 December 9:30-11am: Christmas Concert under the school COLA
This is a very special time for year 6 as they get closer to closing one chapter of their education journey to start a new one in High School. I know the whole school community hopes they thoroughly enjoy their last weeks with their friends and teachers at Cartwright PS.
Kind regards,
Elizabeth Harris

K Red
As we approach the end of the current academic year, I am incredibly proud to reflect on what has been a truly exceptional year. K Red students have made significant progress across all areas of learning, demonstrating independence both inside and outside the classroom. In Literacy, there has been a remarkable improvement in the students' reading levels, and they are now progressing towards writing compound sentences that incorporate adjectives, nouns, and verbs. In Maths, the students have gained a strong understanding of forming equal groups using counters. They have been introduced to 3D shapes and have learned to sort classroom resources according to various attributes. This term students thoroughly enjoyed their incursion and excursion, which provided valuable hands-on experiences.
It has been a rewarding year of growth and achievement for each and every student.
Topaz
In Term 4, Topaz students have been actively engaged in a variety of learning activities across all key areas. Every Thursday, students participate in the dance program and they are rehearsing a Christmas performance to be presented at the end of the term. Additionally, students took part in Remembrance Day observances by attending the assembly and enjoyed dressing up for Halloween. The class has also been involved in hands-on learning experiences, focusing on writing, Maths Seeds, and exploring both built and natural environments, as well as the changing seasons. Every day, students engage in reading activities using DRA readers on the iPad, further enhancing their literacy skills. Topaz continues to be a dynamic and enriching learning environment, filled with both fun and educational experiences for all students.
5/6 Diamond and Mrs Cox
Well, where has term 4 gone? In the blink of an eye the year will be over. 5/6 Diamond have continued to amaze me. We had the Halloween mufti and a special visitor, nothing less than a dinosaur! Three of our Diamond students participated in the dance group, and I had the pleasure of helping at the performing arts festival and saw the wonderful performance of both junior and senior dance groups. 5/6 Diamond have been participating in weekly dance lessons and have certainly shown their moves. Let’s enjoy the last few weeks together because before you know it, Year 6 will be off to High School!
