This newsletter includes step by step guide to getting set up and ready to start school with us.
You will also find answers to frequently asked questions & a contact list.
Please read this thoroughly and bookmark it so you can re-read it when needed.
Before we begin - a few important updates:
- Expect to hear details from your student's Homeroom teacher 1 week before your student begins.
- All student's are responsible for online lessons and online classes beginning on their first day with us.

#1 Set up your Learning Coach Account
#2 Set up your Student's Account
You must create two accounts:
- First your Learning Coach account
- 🚩Then student(s) account. 👈👈👈This is the account that attendance will be taken with!
Immediately save both account login information some where safe and easy to remember.
Instructions are below:
Step 1: You will need your Registration ID issued to you by Stride K12 via the email.
You will have received the email from Registration@k12.com with a "Registration ID". Please check your junk folder for this email as well. 🚩Cant find your Registration ID? Call or email your student's Registrar from the contact list above to retrieve it.
Step 2: First create the Learning Coach (LC) account: https://www.help.k12.com/s/article/OLS-Account-Learning-Coach-Account-Set-Up 🚩Note: Please use an email that you check regularly. TVAH messages will come to your email that you used to create this account.
Step 3 (the most important step): Set up the Students account:

🚩🚩Every single student needs a Student Account. A Student's daily attendance will not be counted without this account. A Student will use their own individual log in for the computer and online school to count the student's attendance.
Student's cannot complete classes or lessons in the LC account. They will be counted absent this way.
Step 4: Get familiar with the online school both for the LC Account and the Student account by checking out our online school handbooks here:

Step 5: Bookmark the login website https://login-learn.k12.com/#login
- Used for student to log in so they can attend class and turn in work
- Used for Learning Coaches to log in and access their Learning Coach Account
🧭Please update the time zone to Central Standard Time to match the school time zone and become familiar with school email accounts.

School Email:
- Download Office 365 information: https://www.help.k12.com/s/article/How-to-Download-Office-365-For-Personal-Devices-School-Email-for-Students
- Current Learning Coach with a New Student, you won't receive a new registration ID. Just log into your current Learning Coach account, click on the links icon next to your name, then "My Info", you'll see your new student's name, click on it and create username, password and save. Give them the info and confirm they can log in. Done!
#3 Laptop & Internet
TVAH students do not automatically receive a laptop.
🔸Laptops are approved based on economic need.
🔸All laptop approvals or denials are sent to the email you provided during enrollment. Always check your spam and junk folders for these emails.
- If your student has been confirmed as receiving services from Special Education, your student will automatically qualify for a computer and this will be shipped automatically.

🔸Denied a computer during enrollment? Apply for a laptop with TVAH with the purple button below.
- Fill out 1 request per student enrolled with TVAH
- Use the Monthly income when prompted
- Student's are expected to have a black up plan even if waiting on a laptop to ship
- Be prepared with a back up device like a Chromebook, Tablet, or Smart Phone
- Student's will need to log in on Google Chrome and attend live classes on their back up device in order for attendance to be counted for them
Approved for Laptop - Laptop has Shipped
- 🚩Someone must be home to accept the laptop to the shipping address you provided.
- 🚩Use the tracking number provided daily in order to be sure you have someone 18 years old or older at home when it arrives to provide a signature.
- Laptops will not be left without a signature and are subject to be returned to sender if repeated attempts have no one home to provide a signature.

Check that your laptop or desktop has:
- A webcam
- A microphone
- Working speakers
- Working mouse
- Working keyboard
If you qualified for a laptop, a printer will also be approved and shipped.
- Printer will come with 1 black ink cartridge and no paper.
- Printer paper and extra ink will be purchased by the Learning Coaches
- Printers are not required to start school.
Internet & Browser
Students need a laptop or computer that can use Google Chrome, have a internet connection, camera, and microphone. Phones, Tablets, Chromebooks, and similar devices are not recommended for daily use. They might work as a back up plan in an unplanned issue but not for regular or daily use.
School issued laptops should come with the recommended browsers. If the device you are using does not have Google Chrome, check out the links below to get started:

Internet is required and not provide by the school. Need affordable internet? For more information and to check if you qualify go to www.getinternet.gov
Back-Up device & internet plan:
🚩All students need to have a back-up device & internet plan in case of device or internet issues. Be prepared with a plan for a back up device and back up internet options. Example: If it is safe to do so, travel to a neighbor or family member's house when needed for internet and/or electricity.

Student Orientation
Your student will have student orientation on their first day in their class connect schedule.
Student's must log in with their own user name and password for attendance to count.
Click on the link below or here to login. *Students must log in with their login info (NOT their learning coach's) to receive credit for attendance.*
Once logged in, you'll be able to see Orientation scheduled for your student.
These are labeled as Class Connects for Elementary and Events for Middle and High School.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When will we receive materials?
A: Materials will be shipped after your placement counselor has submitted your course selection responses into our system. This will automatically prompt the system to ship materials. Usually 1-2 weeks after submission. *If you do not receive materials by the first day of school, do not worry. Student will not use materials until after the 3rd week of school.
Once course selection has been completed by our team, you can see status of material orders in your LC account. See steps here.
Q: Where/When can I see my student's courses?
A: Learning Coaches can see student courses on first day of school by logging into their OLS account, click my students, select student then select course tab.
Q: How can I select my student's courses or electives for the school year?
A: Grades 6-12, You will hear from our placement counselor by email with a survey link in May/June. High School will get a phone call in addition to the email . Grades 3-5, this will be completed automatically once you submit your student's final report card indicating promotion. Here's a Course Catalog for you to review meanwhile.
Q: How do I know what my High School student needs when it comes to course selection?
A: Be sure you've submitted your student's most recent transcript or Final Report Card (needs to include Fall Semester credits) the Placement Counselor will reach out to clear up any questions. Also, here is a resource we use for our incoming freshman, that helps with all the details for any grade level and endorsements as well. Transition to High School PDF
Q: What is Stride Career Prep on the course selection survey?
A. Our students in High School have to opportunity to enter the Stride Career Prep Program. For all the details and what could be available for your student, please see the SCP Newsletter.
Q: Why do I see High School English I or Algebra I on my middle schooler's course selection?
A: Students with high grades or in advanced classes could be eligible to enroll in High School courses and receive High School credit for them as an 8th grader.
