Introducing the PHS Career Navigator!
This year Baltimore County Public Schools is implementing a new Career Navigation program across the county. The purpose of this program is to connect students with workforce training opportunities, career development programming and to help students find pathways to career success.
Ms. Jaime Sheggrud will be spearheading Parkville's efforts as the school's Career Navigator. She is excited to connect with students, parents and the Parkville community to create a career-focused culture within the school. Please reach out to Ms. Sheggrud at jsheggrud2@bcps.org with any questions, suggestions or insight regarding this exciting new initiative. She is always on the lookout for guest speakers, career-fair representatives, career mentors and partners in helping our Knights prepare for their futures.

Service Learning Hours
SERVICE LEARNING HOURS! In order to earn your diploma, you must have at least 75 Service Learning Hours earned in your student record. You can check your specific number of hours in FOCUS by going to My Information -> Service Learning. Please remember that you can submit any hours you've volunteered throughout your time in high school, even beyond 75 hours.
If you have less than 75 hours, KEEP READING...
There are a few options for how to earn your remaining hours.
If you do something within or related to PHS, you can have the person who supervised the activity either send me an email, or you can complete the Service Learning Hour form which can be picked up from the counseling office. This form must then be returned to my mailbox.
If you have already done an activity that could be considered community service, you can complete and submit that same form to me. I will also accept documentation provided directly from the organization (for example, some groups provide students with letters or certificates of completion) as long as this includes what the activity was, how many hours were served, and the name of the person in charge.
- If you don't have anything set up to finish this requirement or if you have any questions about this requirement, please reach out to me directly with a Schoology message. Let's make sure to get this requirement taken care of so it doesn't stand in your way of participating in any senior activities! Reach out with questions :)
