Timber Talks

What an exciting week! Many of our students were able to participate in field trips, and all were a part of Career Day and the Spring Fling. Our students made us proud by representing our school well while being a part of our community. Great work!

We had a team also participate in a final OBOB (Oregon Battle of the Books) competition. Our school team competed with Clackamas River Elementary while the rest of the school cheered them on. A big shout out goes to Mrs. Tubbergen, our school librarian, for the countless hours that went into making sure students were able to participate all year long! From reading through every book herself, to practicing with every student. This was a huge undertaking that gave our students the opportunity to really dig in and love reading.

We have so much more to offer our students this final week of school and we can't wait. Please continue to send your child to school on time, each day, ready to learn!

One thing in education is certain is that there is always change. The same thing applies with our school staff, and we have some great people who are moving on to other adventures, either somewhere else, or even within our school district. We ask that you help us to thank, honor, and celebrate the work they have done for us through the years.

• Mrs. Buckingham (Kindergarten)will be working as one of the English Language Learner Teachers next year at River Mill.
• Mrs. Norvald (1st Grade) will be teaching Kindergarten next year at River Mill.
• Ms. O. (Title I Reading) will be leaving the Estacada School District.
• Mrs. Kelley (3rd Grade) will be leaving the Estacada School District.
• Mrs. Lenchitsky (4th Grade) will be leaving the Estacada School District.
• Ms. Tidd (5th Grade) will be teaching Title I Reading next year at River Mill.
• Mrs. Johnsen (Principal) will be leaving the Estacada School District.

We were able to use funds raised through the course of the year to pay for the Reptile Man to share his love of critters with our students. The shrieks of excitement were great! Thank you for participating in our fundraisers so we can provide these opportunities for our students.

Thank you to those who were able to join us for our ice cream social. The idea came from our parents who filled out a survey for our family engagement team earlier this year. Your voice matters, and we genuinely want to implement as many new ideas as we can to strengthen our school and home connection.

Our students love field day and so do we! However, without volunteers, we cannot make it a special day and memory for our kids. Do you have some time on June 11th to volunteer? Please email Tiana Allgeier or notify your child's classroom teacher. Thank you!

Our ABC countdown allows us to continue to make lasting memories as a school community. Please help your child participate. The days highlighted in blue are dress up days.

In order to help you all know what the week looks like, we will list it out clearly for you each week. REID days for are invited students and will change each week. Students are invited to REID days for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's to extend or challenge a student, and other times it might be to provide extra help on a particular skill. On those days, our doors open at 7:50 and dismissal is at 10:00am. If you have questions about this week's schedule, please let us know!

It's time to celebrate our 5th Grade Students as they get ready to go to middle school. Please help us in honoring them and their successful elementary school experience.

June 13, 2024

Doors will open at 12:45 and Hometown Tickets will be required. If you do not have them upon entry, we will ask you to take a moment to do this.

The event will begin at 1:15 and will be held in River Mill's Gymnasium. Students are encouraged to dress nicely for the event and if you would like to bring a gift for your child, you are allowed to do so.

We are looking forward to our time together and hope to see you there!
