Celebrating Independence Day in Our Community
On the 4th of July, we celebrated the birth of our nation with joy and gratitude. As we wished America a happy birthday, we also reflected on the values of freedom and unity that define our great nation.
Throughout the week leading up to 4th of July, our community came together to ensure a safe and fun celebration for all. Safe-and-sane fireworks stands dotted our neighborhoods, not only providing entertainment but also supporting our local Bellflower Unified students. The money raised from these stands will directly benefit our students, ensuring they have the resources they need to succeed in this upcoming school year.
In total our district had 7 booths, each representing different groups of students. From the Mayfair High School Band to Baseball, Football, Grad Night, Cheer and Stunt teams as well as the Bellflower High School Football and Brigade.
We are incredibly thankful to our community for their support of our BUSD students, teachers, and staff. It is heartwarming to see everyone come together to uplift our students and help build futures.

Custodial Staff Working Hard on Summer Projects
The custodial staff at Mayfair Middle and High School are dedicated to ensuring a clean and safe environment for students and staff, even during the summer break. Led by Luis Melendez, night custodial supervisor, the team is currently focusing on cleaning the STEAM building.
“We strive to provide a clean and safe environment for our students. That’s our main goal!”, said
Melendez, highlighting the team’s commitment to the well–being of students and faculty.
Despite the summer break, the custodial staff is hard at work in the fairly new STEAM building, which was inaugurated May 2023. Recognizing the importance of maintaining the building, the team is shining the floors, deep cleaning the restrooms, stocking supplies, and ensuring a clean and safe learning environment for the 2024-2025 school year.
The dedication and hard work of the custodial staff at Mayfair Middle and High School do not go unnoticed. Thank you to our hardworking custodial staff for contributing to the overall well-being and success of the school community.

Mayfair High School Students Making Progress on Tiny Home
With just five more days until July 10th, excitement is building as Mayfair High School students work hard to complete their tiny home project. As of now, the students are in the final stages of painting the home, with a blue that reflects the school's colors.
The tiny home, set to be unveiled soon, will serve as a storage facility for equipment used by the special education department. Stay tuned for the exciting unveiling of the tiny home, a testament to the hard work and dedication of students as they come together to make a positive impact on their school and community.
