The Buzz with Mr. Bell
Welcome to the spring season in Meadowbrook School. As we look forward to the Spring Break, we have some news to review as we begin the final three months of the school year.
1. Once the weather finally cooperates, morning line-up will be outside on the back blacktop for all K-4 students. Please remember that staff supervision begins at 8:35am. Students who arrive after 8:45am will need to enter the main entrance since the classes will most likely have entered the building by that point.
2. With families planning for, and going on vacation when school is in session, it is important to keep in mind the number of absences your child has for the year. Hillsdale Board of Education Policy 5410 speaks to the number of days needed in each grade level for successful completion to move to the next grade. Unless your child is sick, please make every attempt for your child/children to be in school.
3. If you know of a child who is entering Kindergarten next school year, and has not yet registered, please encourage them to compete the pre-registration forms on the district website.
4. With our preparation of next school year slowly starting, now is the time to speak with me about any concerns you may have regarding placement for the 2024-25 school year. While we do not take requests for specific teachers, we will keep in mind any academic, social, and emotional concerns you have, which could impact the placement for your child. Please contact me directly at 201-664-8088 x 3000 or via email at cbell@hillsdaleschools.com. Please do NOT communicate your placement concerns to your child's current teacher, since the messages do not always find their way to me.
5. Our annual school safety relocation drill to Pascack Valley HS will take place during the week of April 15, 2024. We will communicate when the drill successfully completes.
As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. Bring on the sunshine and warmer temperatures!!
