Safety Drills
So far this school year we have practiced a fire drill and a tornado drill. Students did a great job of exiting the building safely and quietly. During the Tornado drill students learned the safest spots to align in the hall in the event that we ever have a tornado. On September 17th we will be preparing to practice a run hide and fight drill. Carol stream police is invited to observe the run hide and fight drill to ensure that we are doing providing every opportunity to ensure student safety.

Taking home devices
Please take time with your children to build routines for charging and returning to school with their device each day (if they take it home). As students may be accessing information for school on their devices it is difficult for students when they come to school without their device. You may consider having a consistent spot where your child stores their device at home. Creating a checklist and or a visual to assist your child in remembering their device (attach or place the list on their backpack).
IAR reports/I-ready Diagnostic Reports
IAR reports will go home 9/13 with students in grade 4 and 5 who took the Illinois Assessment of Readiness in the Spring of last year. On 9/27 Iready Diagnostic Reports will go home with students K-5 please watch for them
PBIS Kickoff Celebration
Heritage Lakes theme this year is Huskys rock. The Tier I team aligned the school theme with the kick off PBIS school wide celebration for students on Friday 9/6. Students performed a Readers Theater to the story Punk Farm. After the assembly students returned to class with their buddies and created their own rockstar with their buddies that will be displayed in the hall.
