Message From the Principal
Parents-
It has been brought to my attention that as some students are walking home or to the playground or just around town they are picking up the little bottles of alcohol that people have thrown on the ground and are trying to sample them to see if there is anything left. While we encourage our students to clean up and pick up trash that they see on the ground it is important that they do not try sampling anything that they find on the ground as that is dangerous. Please have a conversation with your children about this.
It is also being reported that when students are playing at the playground or park after school hours and outside of school they are not being very kind to each other. It is important that students treat each other with respect inside AND outside of school please have conversations with your children about this as well.
Student Service Coordinator
This week, students in grades 6-8 began learning about Character Dares through CharacterStrong, our Social-Emotional Curriculum. The CharacterDare is described as a workout for our hearts and enables us to actively practice and enhance skills such as kindness, patience, and respect. Our Character dare for the upcoming week is: Sometime this week, Introduce 1 person you know to another person they don’t know.
We would also like to extend an invitation to all families to join us in taking up these challenges whenever possible. We are excited to discover the positive impact that these shared challenges can have on our students, families, and community.
All Things Activities and Athletics
REMINDER- IF a student is going to be going for a school sponsored activity or Field Trip, it is THEIR responsibility to get their assignments from their teacher ahead of time. They are still expected to get it turned in at the same time as everyone else, there are no extensions on school work missed from activities.
Chromebooks should stay at school on game days if students do not have any homework. They should be locked in their locker room locker or their hallway locker. Monday-Wednesday students do have a study hall during part of their advisory in the morning so they will be able to work on things during that time. IT is their responsibility to make sure they have their Chromebook and do not leave it at another school.
