Mid-November Check-In
Dear Infinity Community,
We are now four weeks into our second quarter! This quarter always seems to go quickly as we are about 7 school days away from a short break, and an additional three weeks away from our winter break. Even though it can feel disjointed we have a lot of activities happening at Infinity and in our CT community.
Boys basketball is wrapping up and we are excited to begin our girls basketball season! Girls will begin with 7th and 8th graders (6th grade girls starting after winter break). We are also extremely excited for our IMS Fall Play next Thursday and Friday! Our students and staff have been working extremely hard and can't wait for opening night.
In addition, we have Cherokee Trail performing Mamma Mia this weekend, our Cherokee Trail Craft Fair on Saturday (rescheduled from 11/9), and our CT Turkey Trot next Wednesday. We love supporting our school and CT community!
Lastly, we had a great Veteran's Day celebration this week. We are so thankful for the sacrifice and service of our veterans, as well as the sacrifice of their families. It is always one of our favorite events of the year and are grateful our school and district can recognize those that protect our country.
Regards,
Dr. Dan Hanson

Traffic Reminders
Please help us keep our kids and community safe...
We continue to have concerns around parking lot etiquette and safety. Recently, we had two city council members and police officers here to observe our dismissal traffic flow as it continues to be a safety issue for both our pedestrians and drivers.
Please don't turn left. If you are traveling North or South on Harvest please do not U-turn at the intersection in front of parking lot entrance. We have had multiple close calls with kids and traffic accidents. We will continue to work with the city to see if we can find alternative solutions in the future, but for now we need to work together for the safety of our community.

Attendance Matters!
Regular daily school attendance is a critical factor in school success. Students who are chronically absent from school are at risk of falling behind in academic learning. Poor attendance in early grades can influence whether children read proficiently by the end of third grade. By sixth grade, chronic absence can be a predictor of whether a student is at risk for dropping out of school. Help us meet our goal of having every child in school every day. Learn more about why attendance matters, the role it plays in student success, and how you can help:
After School Games/Activities Attendance
Just a reminder - any student attending a track meet, basketball game, performance, etc. at IMS or Cherokee Trail high school must be supervised by a parent or guardian for the duration of the event. We do not allow students to attend events unsupervised. Thank you for your support.
