D93 Weekly Family Update
October 17th - 21st, 2022
Teamwork Recognition
We received some great nominations for employees and students who exemplify teamwork. Please click here to pick your favorites to be recognized this month.
Thanks to everyone who shared your thoughts about our school calendar last week. Here are the results from those survey questions. Based on this feedback, our proposed school calendar will have the same starting and ending weeks and the same holiday breaks. We would also like to get your thoughts on teacher collaboration time and when to best schedule Christmas vacation and Spring Break. Will you please go to d93.org/familysurvey to add your thoughts on these other questions?
- Independent auditors presented the Financial Audit. They gave our District the highest possible rating and commended our conservative budgeting practices as well as being forward-looking in financial planning.
- Discovery Elementary teachers and students presented on a field trip that they took to Bannack State Park and Crystal State Park this month.
- John Pymm presented projects completed by our maintenance and custodial crews to update and repair our older schools and equipment. These projects are possible because of the support we receive from our plant facilities and supplemental levies. Highlights include creating a controlled access at Bonneville High School to improve security, replacing the auditorium seating at Rocky Mountain Middle School to improve its usability, adding classroom trailers to several elementary schools and Black Canyon Middle School, and resurfacing the track at Thunder Stadium.
- Scott Woolstenhulme reviewed the history of Social and Emotional Learning in school and how we are taking a more intentional approach to supporting students' mental and emotional well-being.
