COMING SOON! Our Apex Fun Run fundraiser and leadership program kicks off on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024.

Apex is a local company that provides a fun 2-week program where students will learn about important leadership habits and good character traits. Then the program wraps up with a celebratory, high energy fitness event: The Apex Fun Run will be on Thursday, September 19th- It’s going to be a TON of FUN!

Fun Run Schedule: Thursday, 9/19

TK, K, 1st at 8:15

4th/5th at 9:15

2nd/3rd at 10:20

The funds raised from this event will go towards PTA and EPAF, Music, Assemblies, field trips and directly into the classroom.

We’ll share more info about the Apex program and ways to support our school over the coming weeks.

Enrollment for EPAF after school classes will close tonight (8/30) at 7pm. Parent emails will be going out no later than Monday evening regarding class information. Art with Ms. Dunn will begin on September 3rd. All other classes will begin the week of September 9th.

We have some GREAT NEWS! This year, Students can take Accelerated Reader (AR) tests at home. They can also complete online iReady Reading or Math practice Students can access educational programs via Classlink and log in with their normal 9 digit ID and personal password.

Parent volunteers are a big part of our Empresa culture. If you are interested in volunteering, please:

1. Complete a VUSD School Volunteer Application and meet any screening criteria required generally for volunteers as well as specific criteria for assigned tasks
2. Classroom Volunteer: Reach out to your child's classroom teacher to request a time to volunteer.
3. Room Parent: Each class is looking for a room parent. If you are interested in being a room parent, please reach out directly to your child's teacher.

Our school nurse, Lisa Roundtree will be at Empresa every Friday 7:30-9:00 am to conduct TB Screenings and sign off so you can volunteer!

Watch D.O.G.S. is an innovative father involvement and educational initiative of the National Center for Fathering. Empresa is proud to participate in this program.

Goals:

1. To provide more male involvement for the students, demonstrating (by their presence) that education is valued and important.

2. To enhance school climate and student behavior by having positive role models around campus.

Fathers (father figures), stepfathers, grandfathers, and uncles are encouraged to spend a half day (morning or afternoon) at their student's school volunteering. Please sign up 2 weeks in advance to allow for planning. 1 visit/month

To sign up please:
