Irish Gifted Academy
Week of October 27th, 2024
Hey IGA Family!
I hope this message finds you well! We have an exciting week ahead, filled with events that bring learning, fun, and community together. As we wrap up another fantastic week of parent-teacher conferences, I want to thank each of you for your dedication to supporting your child’s academic progress. The turnout has been incredible, and the insights shared during conferences are essential to ensuring each student’s success.
We also want to highlight our Junior Beta Club! Several students attended a leadership conference this past week, and we have 17 students who have already qualified for Nationals this summer! Major shout out to seventh grader Aisha Saxena who was awarded the prestigious National Beta Leadership Ambassador award! Thank you Ms. Mulkey, Coach Brown, Ms. Hutcheson, and Ms. Reed for making this a memorable trip for our students!
This upcoming week, we’re thrilled to host our Fall Festival! It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together as a school community and celebrate with educational games, delicious food, and family fellowship. The festival will include a variety of activities designed to make learning fun for students and allow families to connect in a festive atmosphere. We look forward to seeing you there and making lasting memories together.
Additionally, we’re celebrating our middle school football team, who will play in the region championship this Wednesday for the first time in eight years! Their hard work and dedication have brought them to this significant moment, and we’re so proud of each player, coach, and stakeholders that made this possible. Let’s cheer on the Fighting Irish as they represent our system and aim for the championship against Swainsboro!
It is with great pride that I also announce our Students of the Month for September! This month, we focused on the character trait of cooperation, and we are thrilled to recognize these outstanding students who have exemplified teamwork, respect, and a collaborative spirit in their classrooms and beyond.
These students have consistently shown a willingness to work together, listen to others, and support their peers. They’ve demonstrated that cooperation not only strengthens our school community but also enriches each of us individually. Please join me in congratulating the following students for their exceptional display of cooperation: London Carr and Eze Smith (Pre-K), Meliah Mitchell and Ben Jones (Kindergarten), Braden Wells (1st), Nellie McNure (2nd), Zah'iry Polk (3rd), Rosalie Daniel (4th), A'Nyliah Gamble (5th), Liam Oliver (6th), Mollie Davis (7th), and Aatmiya Shah (8th).
This week, we will also observe Red Ribbon Week, an important time to reflect on the impact of making healthy, drug-free choices. Throughout the week, students will engage in activities and discussions centered on the theme of living drug-free, emphasizing positive decision-making and the importance of supporting one another in making healthy choices. See the attachment below for our dress up days this week as we celebrate.
Thank you for being an integral part of our school community and for all you do to support your child’s learning journey. Let’s make this week one to remember with learning, celebration, and unity!
With Gratitude,
Mr. Taylor
