Wednesday 11th December 2024
Kia ora West End Whānau,
As we draw to the close of another incredible year at West End School, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the achievements, celebrate the milestones, and express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has made this year memorable.
To our amazing teachers: your dedication to providing an enriching, engaging, and supportive environment for our tamariki has been truly inspiring. Your efforts in shaping minds and hearts do not go unnoticed, and we are endlessly grateful for the passion you bring to our classrooms every day.
A heartfelt thank you to our Board of Trustees for your vision, leadership, and commitment to ensuring the best for our students and staff. Your guidance has been invaluable in driving our school forward.
To our wonderful teacher aides, your nurturing support and tireless efforts make such a difference in the lives of our students. Your impact on their learning and confidence is immeasurable.
Our support staff and caretaker also deserve special recognition for all the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the school running smoothly. From the front office to the grounds, your contributions help create a positive and welcoming environment for everyone.
To the coaches, managers, and volunteers, thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. Whether you’ve supported sports teams, helped with events, or lent a hand wherever needed, your generosity has enriched the lives of our children and strengthened our community.
As the holiday season approaches, we wish all our families a safe and joyful break. Take this time to relax, recharge, and create wonderful memories with your loved ones.
Looking ahead, 2025 promises to be another exciting chapter in our school’s journey. We can’t wait to welcome you back in the new year, ready for more learning, growth, and connection.
Thank you all for being part of the West End School community. Your support, encouragement, and partnership are what make our school such a special place.
Meri Kirihimete me te Hape Nū Ia – Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Reminder that school closes at 12pm on Friday
Our final day of school is on Friday 13th December and we will be closing at 12pm. Thank you for making arrangements to collect your child and start your summer holidays! Our school office will re-open for 2025 on Wednesday 22nd January between 9am and 2pm.
School Reports sent out this week
This week, you will receive your child's school report. These come in the form of 4 Seesaw posts covering what your child is able to do in Reading, Writing and Mathematics - as well as comments about the Values they have shown through the year. There is a written comment as well as a photo showing evidence of what has been mentioned. Caregivers will also receive an email (that is on our school database) that has your child's current achievement levels and the progress they have made through the year. If you have not received these by Friday, please contact your classroom teacher via email.
Lost Property will be taken away and donated on Friday
You only have a couple of days to collect any clothing left before we donate it. Please check if any items belong to you.

If your child was not at school today, these letters can be collected from the office.
