The Pritchett Post -- 1/31/25
Home of the Panthers!
Dear Pritchett Families,
We are excited to announce two special events happening on Friday, February 7! During the day, students and staff will celebrate the 100th Day of School with a fun all-school indoor parade. We would love to see students, and staff, dress up as a 100 year old! In the evening, we invite all families to join us for our annual "Pritchett Gives Back" event, where we’ll come together to make a positive impact in our community. See the information below, and mark your calendars—we can’t wait to see you there!
This month we enjoyed highlighting a key component to our district's Portrait of a Graduate, kindness. In February, we will focus on the trait of friendship. When a teacher sees a student demonstrating friendship, that child will be acknowledged by having his/her name and action shared during morning announcements. Afterward, the student will come to the office and will be given a red bracelet. The red bracelet is our way of congratulating children for modeling the important character trait of friendship.
Take care and be well,
Dr. Moreland -- Principal

Parent University Presents Dr. Aliza Pressman
Wednesday, February 5th, 2025 via Zoom (registration link below)
The science is clear: there's no one "right" way to raise good humans. The Five Principles of Parenting will help you chart a manageable course for raising good humans that's aligned with your own values and with your children's temperaments. Dr. Aliza Pressman, New York Times bestselling author and host of the hit podcast Raising Good Humans, shares five principles to reparent yourself and help your kids build the resilience they need to thrive.
In the age of high-pressure parenting, when so many of us feel like we’ve got to get everything exactly right the first time, Dr. Aliza Pressman is the compassionate, reassuring expert we all need, and the one whose advice we can all use. Through practice and normalizing imperfection, she provides a handful of strategies every parent can use to get things right often enough: Relationship, Reflection, Regulation, Rules, and Repair.
This event is brought to you by District 96, 102, 103, and the Vernon Area Public Library. Subscribe today for expert advice, real strategies, and the reassuring support you need to parent with purpose.

Transportation Changes

For example, if your child takes the bus every day and you are picking up for a doctor's appointment at 3:30 p.m. (dismissal) please send a note that morning. In an 'emergency' situation you may contact Ms. Barraza by phone or email. Unfortunately, we will not be able to honor any changes after 2:00 p.m.
