Newsela is a news story-based platform that aims to help students improve their literacy skills with real-world content.
The idea is to offer a place that features curated news content so students can safely improve their reading skills while also learning about real-world affairs at the same time.
However, it's for more than just reading teachers...
💬Growing their Vocabulary with Power Words!🗨️
What are they? They sound pretty neat.
Power Words is a Newsela ELA feature that includes in-context definitions of Tier II vocabulary words, allows for those words to be read aloud, and has vocabulary activities to help students practice at the end of an article.
