Reminder of Important Campus Safety Procedures
Campus Procedures:
Clear Hallways
To help us close out the end of the school year successfully, it is imperative to follow through with hallway expectations as noted:
· Students must have a pass to be in the hall. It is never ok to say, just go real quick. If you do not have a classroom pass, please get one from Admin North.
· The 10/10 rule needs to be strictly enforced.
· To help with clearing the halls, we will limit student assistance in the hallway during the 10/10 freeze time.
· If a student is late to class and there was no tardy sweep, admit them to your class, DO NOT send them back in the hall to get a pass. If you think they were skipping, write them up.
· Do not send students to other teachers’ classes.
· Limit the same student from leaving your class every day.
Fire Drill
During safety drills, remember that practice makes perfect. The latest fire drill was far from perfect. Moving forward, the following must take place during a fire drill:
· Take your emergency bag with
o You must have your green/red cards and your classroom roster
· When exiting the building, your class is to remain together throughout the drill
o Students should be in a single-file line
o Students should stay with the teacher at all times
o Once outside, students should gather as a class at the edge of the parking lot to ensure you can account for each of them.
· If a student is missing, hold a red card up until you get the attention of an administrator.
o Give the name of the student to the administrator
· Returning to the building must be orderly
o Classes must stay together with the teacher and report immediately back to class.
o This time is not appropriate for a restroom break.
Safety and Security
Please be present in the halls between classes. If you see something, say something. Follow the basic rules and procedures set by the campus. It is ok to tell a scholar NO.
