A Message from Dr. Holt
Dear RFISD Community,
As I watch this school year racing by, I have been reminded of some of the great things that define our community and district. What I have observed thus far are perseverance, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of community. I am incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by our students, teachers, and staff.
We continue to focus on fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Our commitment to providing every student with the tools and resources they need to succeed remains steadfast. To enhance our communication and keep everyone informed, we have fully implemented ParentSquare across the district. This platform has allowed us to streamline communications, ensuring you receive important updates and information in a timely manner. I encourage you to use ParentSquare to stay connected with your child's school and to take full advantage of the resources it offers. If you have not downloaded the app yet, please do!
Safety is always a top priority at RFISD, and I am pleased to share that we have updated our district's safety plan to include the Standard Response Protocols. These protocols are designed to provide a consistent, clear, and effective response to emergency situations. We will continue to work with staff and students to ensure everyone is familiar with these protocols. Additionally, we are putting communication plans in place to keep families updated about drills and emergencies. You can read more about these updated protocols in this newsletter, but please do not hesitate to reach out to campus administration if you have any questions.
I want to congratulate our community on the hard work and effort that has been demonstrated thus far. Thank you for choosing to be part of the Randolph Field ISD family. Together, we are building a bright future for our students. I want to encourage you to stay involved, whether through school events, the PTO, or district initiatives. Your continued support is vital to student success.
Warm Regards,
Brian Holt, EdD

Randolph Review: Helpful links/resources for the RFISD community
As Dr. Holt mentioned in his letter above, RFISD has implemented a district-wide safety plan, following the Standard Response Protocols outlined in the graphic below.
This widely recognized program is designed to enhance the safety and security of our students, staff, and community. It provides a clear, consistent approach to emergency response, ensuring that everyone knows what to do in various situations. We are committed to creating a safe learning environment, and this addition to our safety measures is a key step in that effort. Further details can be found below.
As a reminder, all safety notifications will be communicated via ParentSquare, and, in the event that we activate one of the safety actions below, you will receive a text, email, and/or phone call using the action words: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, or Shelter.
In the event of an actual HOLD, SECURE, LOCKDOWN, EVACUATE, or SHELTER situation (not a drill situation), you will be notified based on the following:
1. In non-threatening/non-urgent safety situations, you will receive a “Smart Alert”—this means that you will receive the information based on your preferred ParentSquare communication settings.
2. In the event of a serious safety situation, you will receive an “Urgent Alert”—this means that you will receive the information immediately, regardless of your preferred notification settings.
As a reminder, in any drill OR actual emergency situation, it is imperative that parents/guardians NOT come to or contact the campus upon receiving the notification, unless instructed to do so. We ask that you remain available and continue to monitor ParentSquare for updates, but, again, please do not come to or contact the campus. We will always share additional information via ParentSquare as soon as we are able.
ParentSquare/StudentSquare Information
Thank you for your continued patience with our district-wide implementation of ParentSquare. Students at RMS/RHS have already been given information about StudentSquare at school, but if you have a student in grades six through twelve, please be sure they have logged in to StudentSquare (and have downloaded the app if they have a cell phone). StudentSquare will only be used at the secondary campus, so if you have elementary-aged students, the information about StudentSquare does not apply to you. As a reminder, students in grades 6-12 will need to use their school email address to login! Teachers, coaches, and club sponsors will be utilizing ParentSquare/StudentSquare to communicate with parents and students, so having the apps downloaded makes it much easier. If you have any questions about ParentSquare, please email bauer@rfisd.net or visit our ParentSquare Hub, which can be accessed HERE. We have also included a couple of helpful StudentSquare resources below!
100% of RFISD parents are now contactable via ParentSquare (woohoo!!), and 66% of them have already downloaded the ParentSquare app! If you haven't downloaded the app yet, please scan the QR code above. And, remember, when you login, you will need to use the same email address/phone number you used when you registered your child(ren).
Once you are logged in, find your name at the top right corner of the screen, click the arrow by your name, and select "My Account"
Next, under "My Account," select the option that says "Notification Settings"
Once you are on the Notifications page, you can choose your notification preferences for email, text, and the ParentSquare app by selecting: "Instant," "Off," or "Digest" for each of the categories (email, text, and app). "Instant" means that a notification or message will be sent right away. "Digest" means that all messages/notifications will be sent later as part of the Daily/Weekly Digest summary. And, of course, "Off" means that you will not receive that type of notification. If you prefer to receive notifications in real-time, we recommend selecting "Instant."
If you have any questions or need assistance with ParentSquare, please email Bauer@rfisd.net
RFISD Podcast: We Are Randolph. This Is Our Story.
Another notable aspect of the episode is the discussion on homecoming traditions. The district-wide pep rally, in particular, stands out as a cherished event that brings together students from elementary, middle, and high school, reinforcing the sense of community.
As we listen to these stories, it's evident that the Randolph community is more than just three schools—it's a family. These episodes are a heartfelt celebration of the enduring connections and the unwavering spirit that make Randolph a special place for both current students and alumni.
If you haven't listened to the episodes yet, we highly recommend tuning in to hear these inspiring stories firsthand. They are a celebration of the past, a reflection on the present, and a hopeful look towards the future, all woven together through the stories of those who have walked the halls of Randolph.
See if you can figure out who our special alumni guests are based on the pictures from their time as students at Randolph!
