Principal's Message
I hope this newsletter finds you and your families well.
It is my pleasure and honor to share some exciting news with our Tiger community. Let me first begin with some background. About 5 years ago, PPHS was identified by the NJDOE as a school in need of support due to various factors. One of the areas that we identified in need of improvement was our high chronic absenteeism numbers and student tardiness due to the correlation between attendance and achievement. Last year, our initiatives helped us move to a downgraded level of status and, this year, the NJDOE has informed us that we are no longer identified as a school in need of support! This is testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, our families, and our staff. However, this is not a time to rest on our laurels. We will take this as an opportunity to build upon our success and continue to work towards increased student achievement.
With Tiger Pride.

🧣February Recap🧣
Many of our sports programs achieved success during the winter season. A big congrats to our girls basketball program for making it to states, our dance team who placed second at nationals, Seach and August Hibler from Leonia/PalPk Wrestling have made it to the wrestling state semifinals, and the Leonia/PalPk boys and girls swim teams made it to the state finals.
PPHS hosted Kevin Atlas, former Division 1 basketball player and current motivational speaker/lifelong learner/business owner to speak to our students. His message of resiliency, seizing the day, achieving goals, and building good habits resonated with our students. Huge shout out to PPHS Principal’s List and Perfect Attendance recipients! Keep up the great work! Student volunteers assisted with the PPHS & PPEA co-sponsored Bilingual Parent night hosted at the ECC. Thank you to our student volunteers, the PPEA Pride Committee, and parents who came out to the event. Lastly, but certainly not least, Hope Club sponsored a Korean New Year Celebration. Parent volunteers served food, organized games, and even taught students how to make traditional caramel treats!
