Principal's Message
Dear Families and Caregivers:
As we eagerly anticipate the upcoming spring break, I wanted to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to each and every one of you. Spring break offers a valuable opportunity for us all to hit the pause button, unwind, and recharge before diving back into the excitement of school life.
As the seasons change, we find ourselves on the brink of two cherished events in our city: the Boston Marathon and the kickoff of another thrilling Red Sox season. These iconic events serve as reminders of the spirit of resilience, determination, and unity that define our community.
Just like the runners who will brave the marathon route and the players who will take to the field at Fenway Park, each of us has our own journey filled with challenges, triumphs, and moments of celebration. Spring break provides us with a chance to reflect on our own paths, to appreciate how far we've come, and to set our sights on the adventures that lie ahead.
In the spirit of the seventh inning stretch, let's take a collective moment to pause, stretch our legs, and reflect on the incredible strength and resilience of our school community. It's the unwavering support of our teachers, the boundless enthusiasm of our students, and the steadfast dedication of our parents that make our community truly special.
As we embark on this brief intermission, I encourage each of you to take time for self-care, whether it's spending quality time with loved ones, exploring new hobbies, or simply enjoying the beauty of the season. Let's use this opportunity to rejuvenate our minds, bodies, and spirits, so we can return to school feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
As we prepare to cheer on the Boston Marathon runners and the Red Sox, let's also celebrate the resilience, unity, and strength of our own school community. Together, we can achieve greatness, overcome obstacles, and continue to inspire one another every step of the way.
Wishing you all a restful, rejuvenating, and joy-filled spring break.
Warmest regards,
Troy
Kliptown Youth Program Pen Pal Experience
This year, our 3rd graders were able to experience the opportunity of becoming penpals with students from a South African group called Kliptown Youth Program (KYP). Our scholars were able to write letters in Google Slides back and forth with students in South Africa. Most of these students in KYP do not have electricity at home (no TV, video games, etc), and they don't have pets or cars, etc. Learning about other parts of our world, and the diversity within it is essential as our children grow up. What better way to talk about differences and diversity than to attach that to real kids just like them. This past Monday, representatives from the Kliptown Program as well as students from South Africa celebrated with our scholars during a special assembly. They learned more about where their penpals were from, and what school and daily life consists of. It was very eye-opening experience as our scholars asked very purposeful questions. I want to give Jess Roy a shout out for collaborating with our 3rd grade teachers to make this real-world experience happen. This is what community is all about.

Solar Eclipse Experience
This past Monday, we had the unique experience as a school community to witness a Solar Eclipse. To maximize this educational experience, our amazing teachers planned various activities and discussions leading up to the eclipse. Our goal was not only to observe this extraordinary event but also to deepen our understanding of the science behind it. Through engaging lessons, interactive demonstrations, and collaborative projects, students learned about the Sun, the Moon, and the intricate dance that leads to eclipses.
