Medication Pick-up! Message from School Nurse
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Please plan to pick up your student’s medication at the end of the day on the last day of school. Any medication left at school after the school year ends will be disposed of per CDPHE Rules and Regulations Governing Schools section 6.13 H -- “medications acquired by the school or abandoned by parents shall be disposed of in accordance with 6 CCR 1007-2, Part 1, Regulations Pertaining to Solid Waste Sites and Facilities and 6 CCR 1007-3, Parts 260-268, and Parts 99 and 100.”
In preparation for next year, per district policy, all medication forms expire at the end of every school year.
If your student needs prescription and/or over-the-counter medication during school hours, the medication should be brought in the original pharmacy labeled container or original packaging.
The label shall state your student’s name, medication, dosage, number and/or times of dosages per day and the name of the prescribing physician.
Medications (prescription or over-the-counter) will be accepted ONLY with the proper forms signed by both the physician and the parent/guardian.
Please make sure that medications brought to school are not expired and preferably have an expiration date that will last through the school year.
Thank you,
Carrie Bilby BSN, RN
