It was a GREAT year to be a PIONEER!

Dear Northwood Families and Students,

As we wrap up another fantastic school year, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the students, parents, and staff for their hard work and dedication. With summer upon us, it’s time to relax and enjoy the sunshine. However, we encourage all our students to stay academically engaged during the break. Here are some exciting opportunities and resources available in Elyria to help keep those minds sharp:

Elyria Public Library: Join the summer reading program to explore new books and participate in fun activities.
Lorain County Metro Parks: Engage in educational programs and nature activities perfect for all ages.
Elyria Arts Council: Take advantage of summer art classes and workshops to unleash your creativity.

Summer is also a wonderful time to reconnect as a family. Take this opportunity to bond through activities like family game nights, cooking together, or exploring Elyria’s beautiful parks and trails. Building strong family connections now will help everyone feel more prepared and excited for the upcoming school year in August.

June 11-August 5: NWD Office Closed
August 12: EHS 9th Grade Orientation (See flyer below)
August 19: K-9 Staggered Start - 1st day for Students with Last Names A-G
August 20: K-9 Staggered Start - 1st day for Students with Last Names H-O
August 21: K-9 Staggered Start - 1st day for Students with Last Names P-Z
August 22: First Day of School for ALL K-9

We hope you have a restful and enjoyable summer break. Stay safe, stay curious, and we can’t wait to see everyone back in August, refreshed and ready for another amazing year at Northwood Middle School!

Our 8th grade students got an opportunity to travel to DC and experience the nation's capital in all its glory. They had a great time and learned so much about their history.

Thank you Mrs. Small!

Mrs. Small is celebrating her well earned retirement. She has served in Elyria for 33 years! We will miss her dearly. You will still be able to see her playing Pickle Ball any chance she gets. Thank you Mrs. Small for your service.
