We Love Our Substitute Teachers!
Spirit Spectacular 2023!
Eagle Fans: You don't have to be a musician to love Spirit Spectacular!
Spirit Spectacular is KISD's annual showcase highlighting the Marching Bands, Drill Teams, and Color Guards from Ellison, Chaparral, Harker Heights, Killeen, and Shoemaker High Schools. This inspiring event will give you a great sampling of all our high school bands' halftime marching shows, and will definitely get you excited about the rest of the season.
See you there!
Let's Meet Our Campus Administrators!
Ellison High School's campus administrators are here to help and serve. We have a variety of experiences and backgrounds, and a common mission: To provide our students with a learning environment in which they can thrive and grow, working toward a successful adult life after high school. Go, Eagles!
David Dominguez: Principal
Hello! My name is David Dominguez, and I am honored to serve as the principal here at EHS.
I grew up in Southern California and Oregon, came to Texas for college, and stayed here! (After the Ellison Eagles, my favorite sports teams are all from my Southern California childhood: I love the LA Dodgers, LA Lakers, LA Rams, and USC Trojans.)
I am a graduate of Abilene Christian University, and over the course of my career, I have had experience at elementary, middle, and high school campuses, as a teacher, an assistant principal, and a principal. I have worked in three school districts: Abilene ISD, Muleshoe ISD, and Killeen ISD. This is my 15th year as the principal at EHS, and I love our Ellison Eagles!
My wife and I have two sons. Our older son graduated from Ellison last year, and our younger son is a junior at Ellison. Like many of you, we are an Ellison Eagle Family! When I am away from campus, I enjoy running, traveling, and reading.
The best part of being a principal is seeing students succeed academically, get connected through extracurricular activities, and move on to pursue their dreams after high school. I love working with our Eagles here at EHS, and I would love to hear from you!

Avlyn Bolton: Campus Instructional Specialist
Greetings! I’m Avlyn Bolton, Ellison’s Campus Instructional Specialist. I call myself a near-native Texan – my dad was in the Air Force, and although I wasn’t born here, I got here as fast as I could. I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees at Tarleton State University. I became an Eagle eight years ago and I’ve enjoyed working with our wonderful teachers, students, and administrators ever since. I simply can’t see myself doing anything else.

Angela Espada: Curriculum Director
Hey Eagles! I’m Angela Espada, Curriculum Director at Ellison High School.
I am entering my 20th year at Ellison High School – my first as the Curriculum Director. I spent the first 18 years of my career as an English teacher (all at Ellison) with the last four as the English Department Lead and last year I transitioned into administration as an assistant principal.
I am a graduate of Killeen HS, but I’ve been an Eagle longer than I was a Roo! In fact, my husband and two daughters (class of 2015 and 2019) are graduates of Ellison HS and my son is a junior here as well. Upon graduating, I pursued my Bachelors’ Degree at University of Mary-Hardin Baylor – Go Cru!! And then, Western Governor’s University is where I earned my Masters’ Degree in Educational Leadership. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate through University of Texas at Tyler in School Improvement. Outside of school I love spending time with my family. I am a huge University of Georgia, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Braves fan.
I am excited to start this new journey as the Curriculum Director and valued my time working in the discipline office last year. I cannot wait to work with all of our students, teachers, and parents!
Go Eagles!

Kailani Miller: Assistant Principal
Hello Eagles!
Welcome back to the 23-24 school year. I am Kailani Miller, Assistant Principal. This is my first year serving the students of Ellison High School and so far, we are off to a fantastic start. I look forward to what the school year has in store for our campus.
This is my 17th year as a KISD educator and I continue to be optimistic about what we can accomplish by working together. I began my teaching career at Live Oak Ridge MS and transitioned to Rancier MS where I worked for 10 years. In those years, I was a teacher, teacher leader, and Campus Instructional Specialist. #LastingLegacy
This year our theme is #LastingLegacy.
What does this mean to us?
As educators, we are challenging ourselves to remember the teachers in our own lives who made the most positive difference for us, and bring that same energy to our work with our students every day at EHS. We are committed to working daily to have a #LastingLegacy in the lives of our students.
We hope our students can also see themselves in this theme. You as a student have the opportunity to have a positive impact on our campus, and leave a #LastingLegacy of success. Bring your best attitude, give your best effort, see the best in others, and show you care.
We can all leave a #LastingLegacy.
Our Mission Statement
The People Business
This means we are in The People Business: Common Ground, Common Commitments, Common Celebrations. Go Eagles!
Our goal is to help every student learn, grow, and discover how they can make positive contributions to their community, today and in the future, here in Killeen and around the world.
Own Your Learning
When we use this motto, we are reminding students that their academic success belongs to them, and that they should take ownership of it. School staff and parents all care very much about students' academic success, but the key is for our students to see their academic success and achievements as their own.
This invitation to growth, maturity, and ownership of one's success is a key part of our experience here at EHS.
Own Your Learning!
