Academic Services Program Update
The Academic Services team presented its program update. The team highlighted teacher professional development, standard academic practices, the comprehensive integrated three-tier model of prevention, and several pieces of student data that demonstrate the work happening in classrooms across the WSD. - Policy 4130 - Certified Staff Contracts - First Read
- Policy 4505 - Salary Schedules - First Read
- Policy 4506 Minimum Teacher Salary (New Policy) - First Read
- Policy 4565 - Employee Post Retirement Option - First Read
- Policy 6123 - Holocaust Education - First Read
- Policy 6191 - Virtual Education - Full-Time Equivalent - First Read
Policies 2220, 2340, 3470, 4130, 4505, 4565, 6123, and 6191 will come back for a second reading in the November meeting. Policies 1210 and 4506 were tabled for a future date.
Discussions
The Board had discussions around a number of topics including power lunch, discipline, auditorium rentals, and therapy dogs.

We’re incredibly proud of Tammy Jo Jones, transportation aide! She quickly sprang into action when a student choked on a piece of candy. Tammy intervened and performed the Heimlich Maneuver, saving the student’s life.
Board Resolution
The Board discussed the linked resolution and plan to review it in January.
