MDECA Panther Cubs

As we begin the 2024-2025 school year, I wish to welcome you to the BEST campus! It is my JOY and PRIVELEGE to be starting my second year as principal at Meridith-Dunbar Early Childhood Academy. At MDECA, we take pride in building positive relationships with our students and families to ensure our students have the BEST start as they embark on an amazing educational journey in Temple ISD.

We value our families and are devoted to creating a partnership with you this year. We are dedicated to creating a loving, safe environment where students are EXCITED to come to school every day. We commit to providing expert instruction and supporting your student as they learn how to be scholars, thinkers, problem-solvers, and to work collaboratively with their peers. We embrace Conscious Discipline to help students learn how to better interact with those around them. At MDECA, students will receive a strong foundation for learning.

Our goal is to provide your student a safe and engaging learning environment. We utilize procedures to ensure each student is sage before, during, and after school. Below are a few procedures and information for the first few weeks of school. Thank you for your assistance with the following procedures.

The first days of school can be challenging for students and they may become shy! Please be sure to write your students name on their backpack, jackets, sweaters, etc. to help assist staff help your student get to the right classroom. All students should have their dismissal tags on their backpacks to assist with students transitioning from school to home safely.

It is HOT outside! Please ensure your child brings a water bottle to school daily. Please be sure to write your student's name on their water bottle! We have water bottle fillling stations at school to refill as necessary. We will not provide water bottles to students.
