Día De Los Muertos at CHS
The B.I.P.O.C. Affinity Group invites you to share in our School-Wide Ofrenda in celebration of Día De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) alongside our Spanish Language Educators.
All Staff & Students are invited to contribute to the Ofrenda by coloring a Sugar Skull to add to our decor, bringing a picture of a loved one who has passed away to add to our Ofrenda table, or writing their loved one's name or a message for them and placing it on the Ofrenda (friend, relative, pet, or even celebrity) as a way to honor the deceased & celebrate this beautiful tradition.
Our Ofrenda ("offering" or "altar") will be located in the Commons under the large Cardinal poster. The Ofrenda will be up from 10/28 - 11/4.

Let's Go Cards!
Cross Country hosted the Zombie Relay and it was a resounding success. A scary team, a team of chipmunks, a team of redheads (at least during the race), a team that couldn’t decide how many hats they should wear, and a team comprised of characters from both Star Trek and Star Wars (don’t worry, they got along) journeyed through the Corbett Main Campus. Thank you to the parents/families that came out and supported our runners (and chased them as zombies). It was a blast! Next Up: Wed, 10/30 District Meet @ Tigard HS & on Fri, 11/1 the team will gather for the End of Season Celebration.
Women’s Soccer wrapped up their season on the road this week against Catlin Gable. We are proud of the Cardinals for their perseverance and teamwork throughout the season. This group continued to improve each game through their hard work and dedication. Shout out to our seniors for their leadership and positive impact on Cardinal athletics. We also want to thank the coaches, families, peers, and fans that kept Red Wings Field energized. Great job Cards!
Men’s Soccer played their final home game of the 2024 season against Catlin Gabel on October 22nd. The Cards brought their “A” game going up against the #1 team in the state. The team played with intensity, determination and heart throughout the entire game. They gave up just two goals – one in each half. The game ended in a loss, 2-0, but the Cards never gave up. The Varsity team finishes with a winning record of 8 wins and 6 losses for their 1st season under head coach Seth Payton. The JV team closed out its season with an annual tradition. For the 2nd year, the JV team battled the “Houck All-Stars”. Dozens of fans turned out for a fun afternoon of soccer. Freshmen Eli Newcomer and Joel Mayhew scored for the JV team who won the match 2-1.
Football hosted Senior Night and the final home game of the year against Neah-Kah-Nie on Friday night. The team pulled out a 20-18 victory to cap off a great year at Red Wings Field! The game honored seniors Miguel Arzeta, Zane Davis, Hunter Hergert, Enrique Herrera, Korbin Heuker, Tyler Huskey, Jeffrey Johnson, Alex Kinnear, Trenton Montgomery, and Turner Van Hee. Thank you Cardinal Seniors for your energy and leadership! Next Up: Final regular season game Fri 11/1 @ Clatskanie, 7pm.
Volleyball finished the regular season as undefeated Coastal Region League Champs! With sweeps of both Yamhill-Carlton and Neah-Kah-Nie this week, the Cards wrapped up the league without dropping a single set. This extremely rare record is a tribute to a strong and consistent team who is ready for playoff volleyball! On Thursday night, Corbett volleyball honored its seniors–Sammi Blume, Malaya Cannon-Peterson, Abby Gomez, Ursula Harrington, Greta Miller, Lilly Schimel, and Taylor Young. Thank you Seniors for your competitive spirit! Next Up: Home Playoff Game vs. Scio on Sat, 11/2 time TBD.
