Class of 2027 Monthly Newsletter

As hard as it is to believe, the end of freshman year is rapidly approaching! In the final full month of the school year, students should continue working hard on formative and summative assignments to practice and build on skills and prepare for final exams (which will take place June 4-7). Students should be diligent about checking Powerschool and putting full effort into class work to ensure that they are ending the year with scores and learning that they are proud of.

If you know your child will be absent on one or more days of final exams, make sure they are communicating that with the teachers of the exams they'll be missing so they can make a plan for taking the test early or during the make up exam day on June 10.

We are excited to announce that we got approval to take a field trip to Southern Connecticut State University on May 30th for College Knowledge Day! We will get to tour campus and have lunch in the university’s cafeteria. As this will be our last trip for the school year, we are hopeful about getting 100% participation, so please don’t hesitate to sign your child up.

Our district’s field trip policy was updated earlier this year, so please note that permission slips are ONLY available through PowerSchool; there are no physical copies, so you must follow the directions below to log in and complete the form by Monday, May 13th! The new process does not allow for any extensions to the deadline, so anyone interested in going on the trip MUST sign up by the 13th.

• To complete the online permission slip form, please login to your CREC PowerSchool Parent Portal account at https://crec.powerschool.com/public/ or by opening the PowerSchool app on your phone.
• If logging into the Parent Portal, select the Forms icon and then click on the form to open. If using the PowerSchool App on your phone, go to the More menu, then Forms, and click on the form to open.
• For more information about the PowerSchool Parent Portal, go to https://www.crecschools.org/for_families/family_resources/techtools
• If you need to set up your PowerSchool Parent Portal account for the first time, please contact the school office at 860-242-7834 to obtain an Access ID and Password to link your account to your student.

5/8: Q4 Progress Reports Close (Grades will be updated in Powerschool by 5/13)

5/27: NO SCHOOL- Memorial Day

5/29: early dismissal

6/4-6/7: Final exams

6/7: Academy of International Studies Class of 2024 Graduation

6/10: make up exams
