Car Rider Line Reminder - Be in Line by 3:50pm
On most days the car rider line is now ending at about 3:55pm. If you are using the car rider line, please be in line to be placed into the queue by 3:50pm. If you are not in the queue by this time you will need to park and go to the front office for a late check-out. Thank you!
Bus Tag Reminder
Please do not punch holes into the SMARTtag bus tags. They must go inside a clear plastic protector to attach to a backpack. When a hole is punched into the tag, the chip inside will not work and the tag will not read on the SMARTtag scanners.
Watch D.O.G.S. Sign-up Info
The Watch DOGS sign up genius for this semester will be sent to those who have turned in both the Watch DOGS form and district background check. Please only sign up for ONE day- we want to be able to give everyone who would like to participate the opportunity.

Stowe's Sticky Notes
Baby, it's cold outside! We're seeing several days of cold weather, so please make sure students are wearing appropriate clothing for the day's weather. It's ALWAYS a good idea to write students' names on the tags of jackets, hats, and gloves as they can easily be misplaced. There is potential for more freezing weather ahead.
Along with cold weather and more time spent inside comes.... more viruses. Several grade levels have been hit hard with viruses, including the flu. With some classes down to 50% attendance! Please remind students to wash their hands and try not to touch their faces to reduce their chance of getting sick. I have asked our custodial team to use enhanced disinfecting procedures to also try to kill more of the virus that may stay on surfaces.
If your child starts to show symptoms such as headaches, fever, and body-aches, please keep them home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours. If your child is out sick, I hope that they are recovering quickly. We miss them!
We also have some exciting news to share about a BIG GAME coming to town. The Lake Creek HS feeder elementary schools are going to be hosting the famous HARLEM WIZARDS on February 24th in the LCHS gym at 7pm. Not only is it going to be a great time, but tickets purchased will benefit our schools! Plus students can get the opportunity to practice alongside the wizards, and maybe even see their teachers and principals play in a game against the Wizards- and by play, I mean the Wizards will probably be doing trick shots off our heads or something crazy like that! Information is in the flyers below.

AP's Notes
Regular and timely attendance is essential for student success. Recently, we’ve noticed a significant increase in tardies and early departures schoolwide. This trend impacts instructional time and can lead to gaps in learning that are difficult to recover.
Our district policy emphasizes the importance of attendance:
- 10 tardies or early departures: Parents will receive an official notification letter.
- 15 tardies or early departures: The student will be required to complete one hour of credit recovery, either before or after school.
- Every additional 5 tardies or early departures: Another hour of credit recovery will be assigned.
We kindly ask for your support in reversing this trend by ensuring your child arrives on time and stays until the end of the school day. Together, we can create a positive and productive learning experience for all students! Thank you for your partnership.
Nurse's Notes
Hello, Lone Star Families! I unfortunately have had numerous cases of flu and COVID reported this past week amongst all grade levels. The main complaint was headaches, stomach aches and fever. Please monitor your child (ren) for any symptoms and if they have a fever of 100.0, have vomiting and/or diarrhea they will need to stay home and be symptom and medication free for 24 hours before returning to school. Here are some tips that can help:
Stay home if ill
Wash hands with soap and water often especially before eating
Hand sanitizer
Avoid touching your mouth, nose or eyes
Cover your mouth/nose when you cough/sneeze
Avoid sharing cups and utensils
Stay Well!
Arrival and Dismissal Notes
Do NOT park in a handicap space for any amount of time unless you have a handicap sticker. We have families that need to use these spaces.
If you are parking and not using the car rider line, you must walk your children into the vestibule. Students can only be dropped off on the car rider line.
If you arrive after 8:15am, you will need to park in the parking lot and escort your children inside for a tardy pass. Students may not be dropped off at the curb.
Transportation changes can be made through PikMyKid up until 2pm each day. Click on the calendar to update your dismissal method. It's always a good idea to let the teacher know via email/dojo/bloomz just in case.
The last time to check out a student early is 3:00pm. If you have an emergency, please contact the front office.
School ends each day 3:40pm and dismissal begins at that time. Please keep these times and the time it takes to dismiss all students in mind as you register students for extra-curricular activities.
At dismissal, if you need to buckle a child into a seat for car rider, after your child is safely in the car, please pull forward into a visitor parking spot so that you can safely buckle in your child and keep our line moving.
Updated Snack Procedures from Child Nutrition
The MISD Child Nutrition department has updated the number and grade spans for snacks to be consistent across all MISD Elementary campuses. This means that technically Kindergarten students could purchase an ice cream every day. In the past we had limited lower grades to just one day per week.
If you need to place a restriction on your child's lunch account so that they aren't charging a snack (or two!) every day, please reach out to our cafeteria manager, Erica Cedillo, at erica.cedillo@misd.org.
