Greetings Lowell!
I am thrilled to share that we have had an incredibly rewarding week full of activity and meaningful connections. The success of events like our Kindergarten Morning Meeting and Coffee with the Principal truly highlights the vitality of our school community. These gatherings are more than just events—they are important opportunities for us to come together and engage in open dialogue.
I encourage you to share any highlights or insights you may have gleaned from these events. Whether you have heartwarming stories, constructive feedback, or innovative ideas for future initiatives, your contributions are invaluable to us. Please feel free to reach out with your thoughts.
With Gratitude,
Stacy & Tara
Message From Our Nurse
Good afternoon, Lowell Families,
We wanted to let you all that we have had several isolated cases of head lice across multiple grades. We have attached an information notice below that should answer many of your questions about what this type of infection and treatment entails.
Nurses will no longer be conducting head checks in school unless a child is presenting with symptoms that are affecting them in the classroom.
Please (and we can not emphasize this enough!!) check your child's scalp and hair every night, and provide adequate treatment at home if they have lice, and let nurse Kristen know.
Students are able to return to school while they are undergoing treatment for this, which can take days-weeks. We appreciate your patience during this time, and if you have any questions, concerns, or need some guidance, please do not hesitate to reach out to Nurse Kristen at Kristen.Thibodeau@watertown.k12.ma.us
Lowell Learning Garden - Volunteers Needed!
Dear Lowell Elementary Families,
I'm writing to invite you to join us in preparing the Lowell Learning Garden for its winter rest. Our school garden is a vibrant and vital part of our community, providing a wonderful space for learning, exploration, and growth throughout the year. As the colder months approach, it's time to tuck it in for the winter.
We would greatly appreciate your help on Monday, November 18th, after school, to ensure our garden is well cared for and ready to flourish again in the spring. It’s a fun and rewarding opportunity to connect with fellow families, enjoy some fresh air, and contribute to our school’s outdoor space.
Please click on the link below to sign up and lend a hand. Your participation makes a significant difference, and we are thankful for your support and enthusiasm.
Looking forward to working together,
Miss Haynes Altobello, Garden Teacher Leader

Annual Fall Verification will Open Soon
We are excited to announce the Fall Annual Verification 24-25 will open soon. This process utilizes our online registration/enrollment system and is required annually to verify and update student demographic, health, family, contact data and permissions. Guardians/parents will receive an email for each student with a SNAPCODE . A snapcode is like a key to your student’s current information. Using the link in the Snapcode email, you are automatically directed to your student’s data on Watertown’s Registration/Enrollment site. Each snapcode is unique to one student. You will receive a separate email/snapcode for each student. The Fall Annual Verification needs to be completed by 11/22/2024. You can contact the Registrar's Office at (617) 972-4216 or email terri.stafford@watertown.k12.ma.us to ask general questions about the form or process.
Highlights of the Week!
Lenny Visited Ms. Sudbay & Ms. Hansen's 5th Grade Class This Week!
Ms. Sudbay's & Ms. Hansen's 5th grade class were thrilled to welcome Lenny to their class for the week. The first thing Lenny did was check out the classroom norms. He likes them all, especially everyone belongs. He then sat in on a class circle meeting, where he particularly enjoyed the guided meditation opening. In Literacy, Lenny was so impressed by how fluently the students were reading Thunder Rolling in the Mountains in their small groups. He was also inspired by the collaborative conversation about Wonder during Literacy WIN. Lenny joined the class for Music. After listening to the students practice their guitar skills, Lenny decided to give it a go himself! What a fun week. Thanks for visiting with us, Lenny. You're welcome back anytime :)

Help Support Our School!
After noticing how much unopened food is thrown away during lunch time, 3rd grader Naomi Ward has worked with staff and other community members to create a food rescue program at the school. She is raising funds to purchase a glass-fronted fridge for the school cafeteria where unopened food can be stored and made available to students during, before, and in after-school programs. All leftover food will be delivered to the Watertown Community Fridge for the greater community to access.
Here is the link to the fundraiser if you'd like to participate in raising funds for this project. All money will go to the FTO account and then be dispersed for this project: https://gofund.me/dc18c38f
Watertown Public Schools Announces Family Meet and Greet Series
We Need Your Support
Dear Lowell Parents & Guardians,
The Department of Children and Families is seeking to keep Watertown children in their
schools and communities. In order to accomplish this, DCF is looking for Watertown parents
who would consider opening their homes and hearts to a student in need for short-term
care.
Please complete this brief survey if you are interested in opening your home and your
heart to a student in need.
We are so appreciative of your support. We’re hoping that with your help, we can reduce disruption for
children and school communities, mitigate traumatic experiences for children entering care, and reduce
transportation costs to school districts this school year.
If you have any questions you would like to ask before doing so, please reach out to:
