Pleasant Hill School
On Thursday, the whole school traveled to Wentworth for the Senior Stroll. We saw lots of familiar faces. Congratulations to the Class of 2024!
Remember to vote on or before June 11!
It's time to share your voice about the proposed school budget...
Changes for next year...
As some of you may have heard, we have some changes in store for next year at Pleasant Hill. Since our incoming kindergarten class is much smaller than in years past, we will need only three classrooms in K. Mrs. Smith will move on up to grade 2. She has already been working hard planning, gathering materials, and getting excited for the adventure ahead! Our beloved Mrs. Oliver will head over to join the Eight Corners second grade team, stepping in after a retirement there. We will miss Sarah here at Pleasant Hill immensely, and we thank her for the myriad of ways she supported students and families, and contributed to our team here at Pleasant Hill.
Springtime Help Needed
Pleasant Hill Families we need your HELP!
We would like to repair the outdoor picnic tables at our school to make them safe for our students again (no more splinters).
This would require completely sanding the picnic tables and then sealing them.
If you are willing to help the PTA organize this, please fill out this survey:
https://forms.gle/PDitJwk2JsiQhrNS8
Thank you for considering this volunteer opportunity to help beautify and preserve the PH picnic tables!

A Note from Nurse Dorice:
End of Year Medication Pick Up
To: Parents/Guardians of students with medications at school (including Inhalers and
Epipens)
The last day of school for children is a half day on Friday, June 14th. If your child has medication at school, please plan to pick up your child’s medication no later than 3:30 pm on June 14th.
Per school board policy, medications cannot be left at school over the summer. Any medication left at school after that date will be disposed of. Please call us at 730-5286 if you have any questions.
Updated physician orders and the parental permission to administer medication form are required at the beginning of each school year. The medication policy and permission to administer medication at school form can be found online at the Scarborough School Department→ Board of Education→ Policies→ sections JLCD and JLCD-E1 or by clicking on the above links.
Asthma/Seizure Action Plans and Food Allergy Action Plans are very helpful in our efforts to keep children safe at school. These forms are available on our school website or at your physician’s offices. The forms also count as a physician’s order if current and signed by your child’s physician within the past year.
In an effort to make the first day of school as smooth as possible, staff will be available to accept medications and required paperwork for the upcoming school year beginning on Monday, August 26th. Please remember that an adult must deliver and pick up all medications. This policy is in effect to protect all students.
The Pleasant Hill office fax is 207-730-5251.
We will see you soon and hope you have a wonderful summer! Thank you!

Communicating with the Main Office
Student Absence Reporting:
We ask families to report their child's absence from school by calling the main office at 207-730-5250 or by email at phoffice@scarboroughschools.org. When leaving a message, we ask that you state the reason for the absence, otherwise, office staff will reach back out to you for that information.
Excusable reasons for an absence:
- illness
- appointment
- religious holiday
- family emergency
- planned absence
For Planned Absences (a day out of school which is not illness or medical appointment related), families should fill out the PH Planned Absence Form. To reduce lost instructional time, we ask families to do their best to coordinate vacations so they line up with our scheduled school vacation weeks.
For questions about attendance, please contact the main office at 207-730-5250 or email us at phoffice@scarboroughschools.org.
