Rattlers United in Kindness
San Marcos CISD celebrated word-wide Unity Day on Wednesday, October 16. This day promotes togetherness, understanding, and acceptance among diverse communities. It emphasizes the importance of standing against bullying, discrimination, and division, encouraging people to come together in support of one another. Thanks to those who wore orange and a shoutout to our Rattler staff for showing our students love and kindness each day.
Mock Mayhem: Who’s the Culprit?
Ms. Bryant offers her students invaluable hands-on experience that enhances their understanding of forensic procedures and investigative techniques through a mock crime scene lab. By engaging in role-playing as detectives, forensic analysts, or witnesses, students learn to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, honing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This lab fosters teamwork and communication, as students have to collaborate to gather evidence and analyze data. Additionally, it cultivates a deeper appreciation for the complexities of the criminal justice system, encouraging students to think like professionals as they navigate real-world scenarios.
Criminal Justice is just one of 21 programs of study offered to Rattlers through our Career & Technical Education (CTE) department. To learn more about SMCISD CTE please click the button below.

San Marcos CISD would like to thank our Child Nutrition department for supporting academic success and overall well-being, while also emphasizing the importance of community and collaboration in creating a healthier future for all students!

SMCISD Shoutout – Maintenance & Operations Department
This November, SMCISD will be on the ballot for a Voter-Approval Tax Rate, also known as a VATRE. If approved, the VATRE will generate a net of $2.8 million in additional funds. The additional funds will continue to support competitive salaries for teachers, instructional materials for SMCISD students, and enhanced safety equipment across San Marcos CISD. In preparation for the election, the SMCISD Maintenance team installed 15 banners throughout the district and community.
