2024-09-13 Weekly Update
Good day, CARDINALS!
We hope that you are enjoying the amazing fall weather we have experienced so far this year. Our young Cardinals are taking advantage of the weather with their daily recess play and physical education activities. The Boys' Junior Varsity and Varsity Soccer Teams are off to a strong start, as are the Girls' Junior Varsity and Varsity Volleyball Teams, with strong showings in our Little 9 Conference. Go, Cardinals!
We need your support with parking lot safety on the north side of the school. We've had a couple of close calls with families using the north lot for pick-up, and there's a risk of not noticing students crossing the driveway. For afternoon pick-up, please use the larger parking lot on the south side of the school. We appreciate your cooperation.
Students completed taking the fall round of MAP testing. MAP results are important areas that provide parents, students, and staff with real-time data on how a particular student is demonstrating growth, as well as information on areas in which students may need additional support. Like any assessment, MAP is only one measure when considering a student's academic performance. Other measures, most importantly teacher-based assessments, are also used to provide important insight into a student's educational growth. We have some make-ups to conduct on Monday, September 16, and Tuesday, September 17. Once all students have completed their assessments, the Student Progress Reports will be uploaded to Campus Parent Portal.
It was great to meet many of you during Open House. We appreciate everyone's support and look forward to an excellent year!
Lastly, Friday, September 20, 2024, is a half-day for students, with dismissal at 11:22 a.m.
Go Cardinals!

π β½ Cardinal Athletics: The Season Begins!
The season has begun! This coming week marks our first week of volleyball and soccer competitions! We expect that we will have several students attending the games and wanted to review the spectator expectations we share with our students attending a game.
Spectator Expectations:
- Use kind and appropriate language. Use of profanity, insults, or negative language will not be tolerated.
- Treat peers, athletes, parents, coaches, and officials with respect.
- Be present and watch the game.
- Eat any food behind the chairs and clean up after yourself.
- Remain on school grounds at all times (e.g., do not leave to go home or go to Walgreens and come back).
- Remain in your designated space before and during the event.
- Use of phones is prohibited unless you are calling or messaging your parent/guardian.
- This includes general use, taking pictures, or recording videos
- Listen to and follow all directions from the supervisor.
If a student was sent to the office at any point in the day due to negative behavior or received consequences on a day when an event is scheduled, they are not able to attend the event. Students are also reminded that failure to follow these expectations may result in a student being issued a consequence. It's important to understand that these rules are in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. We hope that all students will make positive choices and cheer on our Cardinals!
