MAP Assessment
We just want to thank everyone for their work during the fall MAP assessment. Overall, things ran very well. To provide some clarity, MAP defines student growth using the conditional growth percentile. Students that score in the 55th percentile on the conditional growth percentile have shown one full year of growth. Anything higher that the 55th percentile will be more than one full year. To give us a starting point, we compared the results in both math and reading from this round of testing to the Fall of 2023. Overall, as a building, we are starting in a better spot this year, that we were this time last year. We are encouraged by the results. However, remember, this is a starting point. We will begin our intervention and enrichment groups this week based off of this data so we can begin the work of moving our students forward. 1st Quarter Progress Reports
1st Quarter progress reports were sent home on Friday with your student. If you have questions about a grade that your student has currently in one of their classes, please reach out directly to the teacher. Grades for the 1st quarter will close on October 22nd.
Class of 2025 Information
Seniors....I know it is only September, but it is time to start planning for graduation! Below are some key dates coming up for all Seniors and their parents.
- Thursday, September 19th - Senior Class Meeting during FLEX.
- Thursday, September 19th - Senior Parent Meeting NIght - 6:30pm in the Library at BMHS.
- Friday, September 27th - Josten's Senior Class Meeting during FLEX.
- Thursday, October 3rd - Class ring/Cap Gown order day. 8:00am - 9:00am in the main lobby.
- Friday, October 11th - Class ring/Cap and Gown order deadline.
McCarty Elected as Student Board Liaison
Congratulations to Courtney McCarty for being elected as the 2024-2025 Bellevue Independent Schools Student Board Liaison. She will represent the students as a non-voting member of the Bellevue Board of Education.
Middle School #TigerPRIDE September Students of the Month

- Julian Massey - INTEGRITY - Nominated by Mr. Tosolt and Mrs. Henderson - "Julian has embodied all of the Tiger Principles this year, but especially Integrity. He has been flexible, a positive role model, focused in his efforts and helpful to everyone in class. Seniors Visit EKU
This week, members of our Senior class got to visit the campus of Eastern Kentucky University. A big THANK YOU to our Transition Coordinator, Mr. Pelgen for arranging this amazing opportunity for our students.
Student College Visits
We are taking our students on college visits around the area to expose them to different college campuses and to get them thinking about their next steps after graduation. Our next trip is coming up in October. All students interested in going on the trips listed below, must see Mr. Pelgen for a permission slip. All of the trips have a 40 student max capacity and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Please contact Mr. Pelgen at dave.pelgen@bellevue.kyschools.us with any questions.
- Juniors - Trip to the University of Cincinnati on October 18th
- Sophomores - Trip to the University of Kentucky - Spring 2025
- Freshmen - Trip to the University of Louisville on October 14th
Attendance Matters
Thank you for the great work during the statewide High Attendance Day! We had a great day with right around 95% attendance across Grades 6-12. 11th and 12th grades were the highest in the building with 98.11% attendance. Let's keep up the great work!
Fall Pictures
Our Fall picture day ran very well. The pictures are now available for you to order online. You can order by clicking on the link below. You will need your student's student ID number to order your pictures. As a reminder, we cannot give out your student's ID number over the phone. If your student does not know their ID number, please have them see one of their teachers or the main office.
Homecoming 2024
Our Homecoming game will be on Friday, October 11th as the Battle for the Paddle is renewed against Dayton. The game will kick off at 7:00pm at Gilligan Field. The Homecoming dance is on Saturday, October 12th. Tickets will be available for purchase staring on September 23rd. Students can see Ms. Wheatley before or after school to purchase a ticket.
Athletic Admission Prices
Due to the rising costs of staging athletic events, we are implementing a new pricing schedule for the upcoming football and basketball seasons. Please see the information below for the admission prices for the 2024-2025 season. All tickets MUST be purchased using the GoFan app.
Kentucky Safe Schools Tip Line
In order to promote a safe and health school environment, we encourage all of our students to report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or mental health concerns to a trusted adult. If they do not feel comfortable talking to an adult in the building, they can always report concerns to the Kentucky Safe Schools Tip Line at 1-866-393-6659. All reports to the Kentucky Safe Schools Tip Line are completely anonymous.
