Weekly Memo

Hi Everyone,

We hope you are enjoying the week. It is starting to feel like fall (and even winter this morning). It has been nice for our student-athletes to have a bit of a break between seasons. The winter sports season starts on Monday.

Good luck to anyone participating in this afternoon's dodgeball tournament and enjoy the Friendsgiving sponsored by Yorkwise. If you need anything or have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to Liza or me.

York Boys Hockey is helping collect toys for

the Toys-for-Tots toy drive.

There are collection boxes at the following locations:

Public Library

Eldredge Lumber & Hardware

Norma’s Restaurant

York Chamber of Commerce

York Town Hall

Anthony’s Food Shop

Beachmere Inn

York Middle School

Coastal Ridge Elementary School

Village Elementary School

YHS by the auditorium and the front office

The toys will be collected on Friday, December 6th, and brought to the Hannaford parking lot on Saturday, December 7th for the team to participate in the fill-a-fire truck event.

All donations will be delivered to Toys for Tots for distribution to local families in time for the holiday season.

Wednesday, November 27 - Friday, November 29 ~ No School (Thanksgiving)

Winter 2024-25 sports begin on November 18; please be sure that the three pre-participation requirements are completed and up-to-date with the YHS Athletic Department. Head coaches will be in contact with student-athletes to share program specific information. Game schedules are available and can be found at https://yorksd.rankonesport.com/Website/Main.

REQUIRED FORMS (completed once per school year):

Online Forms can be completed at https://yorkathletics.rankonesport.com ("Proceed to Online Forms" button; choose the following two documents)

a) Athletics Participant Form - HIGH SCHOOL ONLY

b) Emergency Information - HIGH SCHOOL ONLY

PRE-PARTICIPATION PHYSICAL:

Ensure that your student has an active sports physical examination on file with the Athletic Department. Physicals are active for 13 months from the date of the exam. Please send physical paperwork to ecastaline@yorkschools.org, fax to 207-351-4001 (this is a YHS Athletics specific fax line), or drop off hardcopy at the YHS front office.
