SCA News
Homerooms chose their homeroom representatives and alternate representatives over the past week.
Expectations of Classroom Representatives
SCA representatives will take information about events and activities to homeroom and
share with the class. Representatives should exude school spirit and encourage classmates to participate in all SCA activities. ALL leaders and representatives are expected to maintain passing grades and a good attendance.
7th Graders-- Career Quest
7th Grade Career Quest Field Trip Forms are due on Friday, September 13. The field trip is on Tuesday, September 17. We will leave at 9:15a and return at 12:30p. 7th Grade Canoe Trip
7th Grade Life Science students will take their annual Farm and Float trip this coming Thursday or Friday, September 5 or 6. Students in Life Science classes this Fall received their permission forms on August 19 and had until August 26 to return. Students will be visiting Oxbow Farms in Buchanan to observe how human impact can affect water quality. Students will paddle a short 2 mile run down the James River. In addition, students will test water quality along the James and discuss how practices
families make today can positively impact the water in their own county.
RMMS Community Connection
If you have not done so, please consider joining the RMMS Community Connection using the Band app. RMMS will use this app to help strengthen the connection between home and school for our students. Regular announcements and reminders will be sent out through the app as well as our weekly snapshot. This will be an easy way for families to have school-related information stored in one place.

Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Will continue EVERY THURSDAY throughout the year FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) is a outreach club! FCA focuses on serving local communities by engaging and empowering ALL students, faculty, staff to strive to be servant leaders who practices kindness, empathy, and compassion on a daily basis. EVERYONE is welcome. YOU DO NOT have to be an athlete or involved in a church! WE WANT EVRYONE THERE!
Join FFA!
**Students must be enrolled in an Agriscience Class during the 2024-2025 school year to join**
FFA is an intracurricular organization that focuses on leadership and agriculture. In addition to club meetings, FFA Members have access to a variety of leadership experiences, travel opportunities, and the ability to compete in contests for the chance to win scholarships!
Please have your student stop by Ms. Showalter's room to get a form that parents/guardians will need to sign. In addition to the form, dues are $12. This fee helps to cover the cost of membership at the state and national levels.
If your student is interested, but wants to learn more before officially joining, we will have an interest meeting after school on August 29th from 3:25 - 4:45! Students will need to have a signed permission slip to stay after school. Please ask your student to pick up this form from Ms. Showalter if they are interested in attending.
