This Week...
Thank you for a wonderful week in 4th grade! We have gotten to know everyone, reviewed procedures and are excited to kick off the new school year. I will send newsletters out weekly with upcoming dates and information about what we are learning in class.
DATES TO REMEMBER!
September 2: Labor Day- No School
WHAT ARE WE LEARNING THIS WEEK?
ELAR- We will recognize characteristics and structures of informational text, including the central idea with supporting evidence (4.9Di)
Math- We will represent the value of the digit in whole numbers through 1,000,000,000 and decimals to the hundredths using expanded notation and numerals (4.2B) We will represent and compare decimals, including tenths and hundredths, using concrete and visual models and money
(4.2E-G)
Science- We will investigate and compare a variety of mixtures, including solutions that are composed of liquids in liquids and solids in liquids (4.6B)
Social Studies- We will interpret geographic data, population distribution, and natural resources into a variety of formats such as graphs and maps (4.20b)
Class Dojo
Each 4th grade classroom is using ClassDojo this year. Please join your child's homeroom class, if you have not done so. We will send out reminders, pictures and updates using ClassDojo.
