Dear Middle North families,

We had another wonderful week at Middle North! This week, we finished our MAP tests, participated in a hard lockdown drill, and enjoyed the beautiful weather by playing bocce and throwing Frisbees in PE. It's hard to believe that we've already been in school for a full month, it's been a pleasure watching our students grow and succeed more and more each day.

Middle North Weekly Reminders and Updates

SOAR Expectations

We continue to reinforce our SOAR expectations at MSN. This week, we emphasized these expectations during discussions with all students about the recent unfounded threats on social media, as well as respectful behavior in the lunchroom and responsible bathroom use. We appreciate your support at home.

Save the Date for the PTO Book Fair!

Students will shop the fair during school in groups between Monday 9/30- 10/4. Let's make this a great event! If you have money left over from a previous eWallet transfer the funds to make a fall 2024 fair eWallet. Click here to view the parent information sheet. And please consider volunteering! School Fees

School fees for the 2024-2025 school year are now posted in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please note, you will need to access it via a web browser. If you have any questions related to school fees, please call the district office at 847-990-4200 and press 2.

No Phones

We strongly discourage sending a phone with your child to school. If it is absolutely necessary, please remind them to power it off and keep it locked in their locker. According to our Student Handbook, phones must be powered off and out of sight throughout the entire school day. They can be turned back on once school is over.

If students need to contact parents, office phones are available. Phones seen during the school day may be confiscated by a staff member and kept in the office until the end of the day. These expectations also apply to smartwatches.

Office Hours and Reporting Absences

School office hours are from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. If your child will be absent from school, please let us know by using the Report An Absence form on the website, calling the office at 847-990-4400 or by sending an email to msn-attend@hawthorn73.org. Please include any symptoms your child may be experiencing if they are absent because of an illness.
