LAST DAY OF SCHOOL MAY 24
Our last day of school for students is May 24, 2024! School will resume in August. For returning students, packets will be sent by August 1, 2024.
Hours next year: 8:30 am- 11:15 (am session)/12:15-3:00 (pm session).

Family Fun Night May 10, 2024

End Of Year Awards Ceremony
We will be holding an End of the Year Awards Ceremony for all of our preschoolers on May 23rd and May 24th. Details about your child's classroom awards ceremony have been sent home in your child's folder and have been posted on Class Dojo.
Times for the event:
AM Session-10:20-11:05 and PM Session -2:15-3:00 PM
Due to spacing concerns we are limiting this event to 2 guests per child.
Summer School/Journey to Learning Information Registration OPEN
Preschool Experience (for children ages 3-5 not eligible for Kindergarten).
This class is offered at CLARK HALL, Suite B, 380 Granville Street.
This class is only offered from 8:00 am – 10:00 am.
This course is designed for children ages 3-5 who are currently attending the Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools Preschool Program and will NOT be going to Kindergarten.
BUS TRANSPORTATION IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS COURSE.
This course will provide preschool aged students with a multi-sensory approach to learning through a language rich environment, experiential hands-on activities, and repeated practice with preschool concepts. All supplies will be provided. There are a limited number of spots available for this course.
Kindergarten Readiness Experience (first-time kindergarteners) (for children age 5 by August 1, 2024). This class is offered at CLARK HALL, Suite B, 380 Granville Street. This course is designed for children who will be first-time Kindergarteners and would benefit from additional exposure to Kindergarten readiness skills. STUDENTS WHO WILL ATTEND GJPS FOR THE FIRST TIME DURING THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED FOR KINDERGARTEN BEFORE REGISTERING FOR THE KINDERGARTEN READINESS EXPERIENCE. BUS TRANSPORTATION IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS COURSE. It is especially recommended for students planning to enter Kindergarten who have never attended preschool. The following skills will be emphasized during this class: Social awareness, working with manipulatives, upper-and-lower-case letter recognition, color recognition, similarities/differences, and arts and crafts activities. All supplies will be provided.
The registration process for high school courses, elementary special education, Kindergarten Readiness and preschool will be open to all students with limited space available.
Frog Street Curriculum
Our last week we are beginning a new them in our classroom, “Changes”. Children will explore the concept of change and its effects. Change can happen over a long period of time or in a moment. Some changes are hardly noticed and others make a big impact. Changes happen to everyone.

Kindergarten Enrollment Information (Required to be 5 by August 1, 2024)
Age for Kindergarten: Your child must be 5 by August 1, 2024 to go to Kindergarten.
Enrollment for Kindergarten: If your child is age-eligible to go to Kindergarten and currently attends our preschool, you will NOT need to enroll them for Kindergarten. We will send all information to the building principals.
Returning Students

Medical Statement Reminder
Our preschool licensing rules require us to have an updated medical statement on each student after EACH annual exam. The medical statement form is attached below. Take this form to your child's yearly exam to have completed by their pediatrician. If you need a form sent home, please let us know and we would be happy to print and send it home!
Forms will be sent home next week for returning families to indicate if your child's medical statement is expired, will be expiring soon, or we do not have on file.
District News
The Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools Central Office and Maintenance buildings will be moved to new locations this summer to create more parking space on the high school site.
Our Central Office will be in a portion of the second floor of the office building at 630 Morrison Road as a result of a three-year lease that the District has entered into. You can learn more about the move and what it means for the current site on our website.

Heart & Pride Award
The Heart and Pride Award recognizes two outstanding staff members each month who make a profound impact on our students and Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools.
The Heart & Pride Nomination Form will remain available year-round and is open to any member of our staff, regardless of position.
