MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Why We Do What We Do
Frequently, I run into my former students and I am always proud to see all of the wonderful things that they have accomplished and working towards accomplishing! It is very humbling and reaffirming when the "success torch" is passed on victoriously!
I recently had the pleasure of seeing a former student, Jaliyah Graves. She had come to us from another elementary school and has rocketed her way through her academic career ever since! Within 30 days of starting as a new scholar with us, she began reading and has never looked back! She graduated from high school 2 years early and is now in her sophomore year at the University of Toledo studying Digital Marketing. Eight months ago, she also became a licensed nail technician...all before her 18th birthday! To this day, her mother, Candice Pollard, is glad she made the switch to our Imagine Madison Avenue School of Arts for her young daughter, “Imagine set the foundation for Jaliyah’s education!”
When I am graced with an occasion to be reunited with former students such as Jaliyah, I truly feel blessed to see them excelling in life and making positive contributions to our community! Here at Madison Avenue School of Arts, we strive to inspire our entire village (students, families, staff) as we believe that everyone is capable of success without any exceptions! We all take different roads to success, and some roads may prove to be longer than others, however we encourage everyone to stay on their individual paths never forgetting their "WHY!"

"Allowing Imagine Madison Avenue School of Arts employees to pave the way can land you in great places you never would have imagined!" — Jaliyah Graves, Imagine Madison Avenue School of Arts Alumna
WINTER EXTRAVAGANZA PERFORMANCE
MONDAY, DECEMBER 16TH
What a fabulous performance by the Imagine Madison Avenue School of Arts' students!!!!
It was a great night! The dance numbers were energetic and a ton of fun to watch. Each one drew enthusiastic applause from the audience. And kudos to 5th grader, Karina H., for doing a solo routine!
Students paraded through the room showing off artwork. Colorful trees adorned the walls; each trimmed with button ornaments that the students completed in art class one week.
The evening's entertainment came to a thunderous conclusion with our Step Team & Drum Line performances!
We are so proud of how all of these students showcased what makes our school the best in Toledo!
WHY ATTENDANCE MATTERS
When it comes to your scholar’s education, every day matters. Many studies suggest that students with less than eight absences, on average, grew academically 23% more in reading and 19% more in math than students with eight or more missed days. Eight days is less than one day a month and more than that can negatively impact a child’s academic progress.
At Imagine Madison Avenue School of Arts, we want to see your child achieve. That is why it is so important to us that they are present each day. Here are a few tips for ways to keep your scholar in class and maximize their opportunity to achieve at high levels:
- Establish a reasonable bedtime that allows for 8 hours of sleep.
- Make a backup plan for getting your scholar to school in case something comes up.
- Only keep your scholar at home if they are really sick (fever, vomiting, or a contagious illness).
- Schedule doctor appointments during school breaks, or before or after regular school hours when necessary.
- Plan any family vacations around holidays or other times off from school so that your scholar will not miss any learning.
Thank you for partnering with us in the education of our future!
