Greetings Highland!
My name is Lisa Harrison and I am excited to introduce myself as your new Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year! As an educator within School District U-46 since 2006, I am truly honored to serve you in this new capacity.
The entirety of my educational career lies within School District U-46. I have taught English, Reading, History and Social Studies. (One summer I even taught Algebra!) In attempts to really support my students within my school, I made it my top priority to be actively involved across all areas of the building. I have been an active member of School Department, School Improvement Team, U-46 Rising, School Improvement Leadership team and an ETA representative. After the school day, you would find me running Book Club or coaching volleyball at both the high school level or most recently, at the middle school level.
My family currently resides in West Dundee, Il. My daughter, Faith, is ten years old and she loves to play soccer. She recently joined a local soccer team and scored her very first goal! My son, Axel, is a fiery four year old who enjoys playing any sport as long as he can challenge his older sister. My husband, Alec, loves to go fishing and spend as much time as he can enjoying nature and the wilderness. As for me, I enjoy the summer time when the four of us can be together and take our large Great Dane, Smokey, out for walks. Smokey is the newest addition to our family and he keeps us on our toes!
As your new Assistant Principal, I vow to work diligently with you, the community and Ms. Upshaw to continue to carry out the mission and vison of Highland. Please know that my door is always open and I truly value your input and contribution in making Highland the best elementary school in U-46!
