Christmas w/ Bethany & Pilgrim!
Worship Times!
CHRISTMAS Continues!
Merry Christmas One and All!
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were days I will never forget. Pilgrim had around 25 people come by the church on Christmas Eve to light candles, pray and mediate, as well as take part in Holy Communion. As I hope you all heard from the sermon, the power of the Holy Spirit brings us together with all the saints from all times and places, this means that the mystery of Holy Communion brought our parish together this Christmas, both for those who partook in Communion and those who continue to fast from it. Christmas Day at Bethany was simply ethereal as around 30-35 people came in. In the days ahead, I hope you are able to stop and adore Christ in the manger scenes at either church. Reading material along with gifts for the youth are available in the drop-off bins.
Sunday morning’s worship service is synod-wide! ELCA churches in our synod will worship together, with Bishop Laurie Skow-Anderson presiding. Click here to access the worship videos: https://www.bplutheran.com/watch/worship-services
THE SCHEDULE
Pastoral Visits
While our Bishops continue to encourage people to fast from Holy Communion, and I believe that is wise, the Communion offered here is for those who desire the Sacrament. Keep in mind that partaking or not partaking does not make one holier or less holy. Jesus Christ was given to us freely as such we take as beggars (not worthy) within our own free conscience. In other words, the Sacrament is given for you in order to nourish your faith. It is not a way to feel "holier than thou" for indeed, that would be an abomination of the Sacrament. If you have questions, talk to Pastor Emily.
*For those who wish to have communion delivered to them, please contact the office and we will arrange to have someone bring it to you. Please watch the Holy Communion service in advance.*
