God Creates Adam and Eve
Who are you?
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. In six days, He created light, sky, land, seas, heavenly lights, and animals. Then, God made the crown of His creation—humankind. “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness,” said God, and He scooped up some dirt, formed
Adam, and breathed into him the breath of life. “It is not good that man should be alone,” God said, so He took a rib from Adam, formed Eve, and brought her to Adam to be his wife. God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply,” take care of the earth and every living thing on it. God finished His work of creation, and on the seventh day He rested.
Opening Prayer

Talk about it
- What was special about the way God created Adam and Eve?
- What special jobs did God give Adam and Eve?
- How are people different from the rest of God's creation?
God created Adam out of the dust of the earth and breathed into him the breath of life. God made Eve from one of Adam's ribs. Adam and Eve were created in the image of God. Humans are God’s very special creation!
God told Adam and Eve to "be fruitful and multiply" (that means have children!) and to take good care of His creation. God has given those jobs to all people!
Humans were made in God’s own image. God created people to have a special relationship with Him, and a special responsibility--to take care of the rest of creation!
Sin broke our special relationship with God, but Jesus brought us close to God again when He paid for our sins on the cross!
