EVERYONE LEARNING, EVERYONE LEADING
Dear Longacre Families,
Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope you and your family enjoyed a restful and joyful winter break.
As we kick off the second half of the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the principles that guide us at Longacre. Each day, we encourage students to embrace The 7 Habits of Happy Kids. These habits are more than just resolutions or goals, they are a way of life.
Unlike New Year’s resolutions, which can sometimes be short-lived, the 7 Habits offer a lasting framework for students to develop character, take ownership of their actions, and approach challenges with confidence and resilience. From Being Proactive to Sharpening the Saw, these habits help our students build the skills they need to be effective leaders and responsible, compassionate individuals.
As parents, you are a key part of this process. By modeling these habits at home, you reinforce the powerful message that growth and success come from consistent, intentional actions, not just fleeting resolutions. Together, we are empowering our children to take charge of their own learning, build positive relationships, and set themselves up for a bright future.
We are excited for what lies ahead and look forward to welcoming the students back to school on Monday! As always, feel free to contact me or the main office at 248-489-3733 if you have any questions.
With Longacre Pride,

Culture of Equity & Innovation Community Survey
Dear Community Members,
Your opinion matters! We invite you to participate in an important survey aimed at assessing our school district's culture regarding equity and innovation:
-Equity: Each student receives what they need to develop to their full academic and social potential.
-Innovation: The process of introducing new methods, approaches, or technologies into the learning environment to significantly improve teaching and learning outcomes.
Your insights will help us identify strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring that our educational environment meets the needs of all students.
Objective: To assess the organization's culture regarding equity and innovation and identify areas for improvement.
Your feedback is crucial in shaping a more equitable and innovative educational experience for all students. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and will close on January 17, 2025. Your responses will be kept confidential and will be used solely for the purpose of improving our district’s practices.
Thank you for your participation and for helping us create a better learning environment for our students!
