Rogers Park Family Skate Night @ Dimond Skateland - May 1st
Rogers Park Talent Show - May 2nd
We’re going to end the year with a BANG! Students have an opportunity to audition to be a part of this year’s Talent Show. In order to keep the Talent Show to an hour, not all students who audition will be in this year’s show. Please be prepared for this possibility.
· Talent Show Date: Friday, May 2nd at 12:45pm (school assembly) & 6:30pm in the Gym. All performers must stay until the end of the show for the final bow.
· Audition Dates: Tuesday, April 15th, OR Thursday, April 17th, from 2:30pm-4:00pm in the Music Room
· Mandatory Dress Rehearsal: Thursday, May 1st from 2:30pm-4:30pm in the Gym. Performers must attend the Dress Rehearsal and must stay for the entire time. Performers who leave early or fail to attend the Dress Rehearsal will be removed from the final performance.
All acts need to be PERFORMANCE READY at the audition time. A performance ready act includes the following characteristics and has the following requirements:
· Acts may not exceed two (2) minutes. Shorter acts are appreciated to allow more students to participate.
· The act must be performed from beginning to end without stopping or restarting.
· All acts should be entertaining and fun to watch!
· All music, dancing, and acts must be elementary appropriate.
· Absolutely NO lip-syncing. An accompanist or a karaoke type CD must accompany all singers unless sung a cappella.
· To add variety to the show, there will be a limited number of the same type of acts.
· Students may participate in one (1) solo performance and one (1) group performance with a maximum of two acts.
· Dancing, Singing, Instrumental/Piano Performance, Magic Tricks, Poetry Readings, Karate Demonstrations, Juggling, Comedy Routines, Hula Hooping, etc., are appreciated to make our Talent Show interesting and fun!
· The decision of the judges is final and must be respected.
Good luck and practice hard! Auditions are right around the corner.

Camp Fire Fall Opportunities
Hello Camp Fire Families,
On March 19, 2025 at 6:00 am, registration for the 2025-2026 school year opened for all Camp Fire sites. This includes after school programs, half days, full days, as well as winter and spring break. Camp Fire’s monthly after school fees do not include half or full day programming. All half day, full day, and breaks require a separate registration.
Camp Fire plans to operate full day, winter and spring break programs at Alpenglow and Rogers Park Elementary Schools. These sites are subject to change based on availability from the Anchorage School District. Camp Fire will notify families if any changes in location occur. Camp Fire charges a $35 deposit for each option that you enroll in. This deposit will apply to the full cost of that option. The after school program as a whole is just one $35 deposit and then any additional options will have their own $35 deposit.
When you are making your selections for the after school program, you will see each month listed separately. You must select all 10 months to complete your registration. Several months are pro-rated due to a reduction in program days. Camp Fire is excited to announce that after school programs at Chugach Optional and Gladys Wood Elementary schools will re-open for the 2025-2026 school year. Registration for these programs also opened on March 19 with all other sites.
Rates for the upcoming school year are below. Aquarian and Chugach Optional have a different schedule than other ASD schools so their rates are listed separately. All other schools will have the same after school monthly rate. After School Monthly- $590 Aquarian After School Monthly- $520 Chugach Optional After School Monthly-$535 Camp Fire will continue to offer scholarships as funds allow. Scholarship information and links to the applications are available on our website and will also be available in the document center when you login to your UltraCamp account. If you have any questions about fall registration, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you! Camp Fire Alaska

PTA Update
Hello from PTA!
Wow, how can it be that we are entering May and our final weeks of the school year!? Thanks to those who participated in our WildScoops Takeover last month. Your purchases went towards a $400 donation to our PTA! Please join us this evening for the Family Skate Night at Dimond Skateland (5:30-7:30 pm).
Next week we have a very busy and fun week planned for Staff Appreciation and we are so very grateful for our planning committee and all of those who have donated and/or volunteered their time. We have events planned daily and there are still opportunities to contribute. Sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4DADAA2DA3F9C34-56534758-rogers#/.
Please join us for our final PTA membership meeting of this school year on Wednesday, May 7th, hosted in the school library and on Zoom at 6pm. We will be voting on our proposed budget for 2025/2026 and our proposed bylaws, required every 5 years for our PTA. We will also be discussing the proposed calendar of PTA events/activities for 2025/2026. Please anticipate an email with this information, as well as a link to vote electronically if you are unable to attend the meeting in person.
PTA needs YOU! We will have 3 open officer positions on our board next year:
President
Treasurer
VP, Communications
If you are interested in any of these roles, please let us know via email (rogers.park.pta@gmail.com) and we can share more about the duties involved. Mentorship will be available. These board positions are for a one year term, with the potential to renew for a second for 2 consecutive years according to our bylaws. We hope to have nominations to vote on new board positions at our final meeting in order to allow time for transition. If a board position is not something that you can fit into your schedule, we do have many open committee positions and small volunteering commitments that can be done outside the school or work day. Staff Appreciation Week May 5th-9th.
Thanks again to our membership for all that you do to support our students and staff at Rogers Park!
