The Governor Has Spoken!
Greetings and Salutations!
Greetings ASASP Family,
I hope all is well with you and yours. There will probably be a few correspondences this week before the holiday break, but right now I wanted to make sure everyone is aware of Governor Moore's plans moving forward with the implementation of the Maryland Blueprint for Education.
Keep your eyes and ears open for more updates, as I am certain they will impact the work that you do and possibly the compensation you receive after our negotiations conclude.
In case you don't hear from me again this week as you prepare for your winter break, have a very happy holiday season! Feliz Navidad! Happy Hanukkah! Happy Kwanzaa! Merry Christmas! Now you know I don't own the rights to any of these clips, they are merely for your listening enjoyment!

Maryland Governor Is Ready "To Pause" Blueprint Implementation, Wow!
Many Components Of Maryland Blueprint Unrealistic, Unaffordable and Unattainable.
It was Friday, January 13, 2023, about twenty-three months ago when my letter went out. Yet here we are today less than one month before 2025 and Governor Moore announces he can't continue to fully support the plan because it is unaffordable and unattainable. You cannot make this stuff up.

Negotiations, Negotiations, Negotiations!
Negotiations Are Real
Negotiations are currently underway between ASASP and PGCPS. We are fighting diligently during each session to secure a contract for all members that will be most beneficial to all members. As we go through the contract line by line, article by article, your negotiations team will leave no stone unturned. Please be informed that we remain under our current agreement until a new agreement is reached.
Article VI of our negotiated contract is the part of our contract that deals with compensation. Hopefully, we will have a finished product no later that mid February at the latest, however that is not a guarantee. Once we are done, we will hopefully have a contract that we can all benefit from.
Step Increases, respectable COLA rates, improved tuition reimbursement, and pay for work outside of your scheduled workday, are just of a few of the upgrades we are working to improve. Stay tuned!
