Ezra Faulkner gets hurt in a car accident and shatters his knee. He can't play tennis ever again and he has had a hard time accepting that, but a new girl shows up at school. He sits behind her in class and talks to her a few times. He starts to like her and asks her out. They are supposed to go to prom together, but she doesn't answer and goes missing....
