Spotlight Image: An astronaut (aka Mrs. Laura Houck, 3rd grade teacher) was recently spotted at Monroe Elementary School during planetarium exploration activities for 1st, 3rd, and 4th graders. The portable planetarium - a fun and engaging opportunity for students - was part of a study of various space topics.

Calling All Volunteers
We are in need of community members to volunteer to share Junior Achievement’s pre-written programs with our elementary school students. The programs focus on key concepts such as financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. Currently, we have availability at Winding Creek and Silver Spring elementary schools for volunteers to share their expertise, personal experience, and knowledge with our students. Please contact the school office if you are interested in helping to deliver these valuable lessons to our students. Thank you for considering this call for assistance.
Bowling Team Heads to States!
Please help us celebrate our CV bowling team, who will compete in the PA High School State Bowling Tournament on Saturday, March 18, 2023, in Erie. The team placed 2nd in the eastern region out of 36 teams to secure their spot at States. Go Eagles!
Congratulations to Cumberland Valley Mini-THON for raising $320,146.23 for the Four Diamonds and their fight against pediatric cancer. Since 2007, CV Mini-THON has raised more than $3.3 million FTK (for the kids). Our students work tirelessly throughout the year to raise funds for this day, and the event has become something that is celebrated and championed by students across the district, from our littlest Eagles to our soon-to-be grads. Additionally, thank you to the greater CV community for always supporting our students and their programs.

Newsmaker: Senior Neha Shukla is "Flipping the Status Quo"
Congratulations to Cumberland Valley High School and CVVA senior Neha Shukla, who has been awarded a $10,000 grant from M&M'S USA because she is "flipping the status quo in innovation and technology."
Staff from around the district recently came together to collect 2,193 items and an additional $1,106.25 for New Hope Ministries. The annual Share the Love food drive is organized by Cumberland Valley Education Association. Pictured are staff from Sporting Hill and Winding Creek elementary schools.
Cumberland Valley High School juniors Maya Sekhar, Amaya Ghosh, and Ady Machemer have been named as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s 2023 Central PA Student Visionaries of the Year. Together, the trio (team name: KickinOutCancer) raised a combined $157,000 for LLS. In addition, Maya earned the Patient Support Mission and Impact awards. Congratulations!
