Mackeben Elementary School extends a heartfelt THANK YOU to our school community! We're incredibly proud of our readers and grateful for your support, which made our fundraiser a success. Our students had a wonderful time reading.

Shining Bright - Staff Star of the Week!!!!

Mr. George Shepard

Mr. George is our beloved custodian. Mr. George dedicates his day in keeping our school clean, beautiful and safe. Each day he ensures that classrooms are ready for students. There are many moments in the day that students have accidents or may get ill and Mr. George is right there to tidy up and allow the space to be sanitized.

Mr. George will always take the extra steps needed to check and double check all school machinery, emergency lights, maintenance replacements and building furniture needs.

Personally Mr. George loves to spend time with his family, his grandchildren and in his own garden or helping to fix things in his children's homes.

Mr. George is the man that makes sure that our school SHINES BRIGHT each day!!! We thank you and appreciate all that you do for us!!!

National School Lunch Week

National School Lunch Week: October 14-18, 2024
The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom. We are proud to serve breakfast and lunch in our cafeterias every day and thank our dedicated food service staff who provide it! Click the link for our menus.

Winter Caroling Performance - Save the Date

2nd Annual Recycle for Sight Used Eyeglass Collection Drive

Huntley District 158 has partnered with the Huntley Area Lions Club to hold the 2nd Annual Recycle for Sight Used Eyeglass Collection Drive at each school during the week of

October 21 thru October 25. Used prescription eyeglasses, prescription sunglasses, reading eyeglasses, and empty plastic or metal eyeglass frames will be collected. We are hoping this collaborative effort will be simple for everyone!
