SBA/MAP Schedule
PLEASE REVIEW
SBA & MAP Testing Schedule – Please Read
Hi Team,
As we head into spring testing, I want to emphasize the importance of sticking to the testing schedule as outlined. Our collective commitment to following the plan ensures that all students are supported and that our systems run smoothly.
Why This Matters:
SPED Support: Our SPED team’s ability to serve students during testing hinges on this schedule. Any shifts can disrupt services and limit support for our learners who need it most.
Chromebook Cart Logistics: We have limited devices and carefully scheduled use across grade levels. Deviating from the plan can create access issues and delays for other classes.
Student Success: The schedule allows time for intentional pacing, rest, and make-ups. Staying aligned helps students do their best and ensures fairness across classrooms.
MAP Testing Timing: The MAP schedule will be fully completed before Memorial Day weekend, giving us room to focus on SBA makeups and wrap-up assessments before heading into June.
🗓 Save the Date:
We’ll meet the first Tuesday after break to go over SBA expectations, clarify logistics, and answer any questions.
Thank you for your flexibility, your attention to detail, and your commitment to doing what’s best for students!
Please reach out if you have any questions or run into any challenges.
Warmly,
Progress Monitor and Core Phonics Dates
Here are the due dates for DIBELS PM & Core Phonics Updates for April. There are 3 assessment due dates this month.
Please have one DIBELS PM turned in by this Friday, April 18. The second due date will be Friday, May 2. These 2 PMs will be both recorded as 2 of the April weeks on your packets. If you get them done sooner, feel free to turn them in early. (Don't worry about where the lines are drawn on student booklets.)
With mini data meetings approaching the week of April 28- May 2, we need all of your Core phonics updates turned in no later than April 23 so that our spreadsheet can be updated.
One more thing about Core Phonics- Please record changes with a purple pen and put scores in the spring column on the cover sheet.
Thanks for meeting these deadlines! Let us know if you have any questions.
BOOK FAIR INFORMATION
Book Fair will take place April 21-25
Each class will attend Book Fair during their regular library time on Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday and students can buy books during library time. On Thursday, students who missed their library day due to absence can come to the library at the beginning of specialist time (thank you Chris and Dave!). ONLY students who are purchasing should come on Thursday! Drop those students off on your way to PE or Music. Library classes will be in the back room of the library with a substitute on Thursday and Friday, and she will send shoppers into the Book Fair on Thursday.
We will also be open during Grandparents’ Day before school on Friday the 25th from 8:00-9:00 AM. Book Fair ends when the last family finishes shopping, hopefully shortly after 9:00! The Friday event will be in the Gym this year (Thank you Chris!). He will let you know where morning PE classes will be. We hope to get the book fair out of the gym as soon as possible that morning.
We are encouraging families to use Scholastic’s eWallet to avoid sending money to school, but we will also accept cash/checks/credit/debit cards.
We will not be able to check books in or out during Book Fair, so please don’t send students with library books. We will start setting up on Friday the 18th, so please don’t send books that day, either.
Staff who set aside purchases until the end of the fair are asked to take care of payment before noon on Friday. We take cash, check, and credit/debit cards.
We will offer the Teacher Wish List option during Book Fair for families who would like to donate books to their children’s teachers. If you want to fill out your own title requests, you can look through this book list, or take a look at the fair after we have it set up in the afternoon on Friday, April 18. Fill out the Book Wish Donation Cards and then place them in your designated pocket on the Teacher Wish List Program display (or leave the cards in my mailbox and I’ll place them for you). I will have additional cards in the library.
For more information including hours and class schedule, visit our Book Fair Homepage or refer to the Family Letter sent home with students.
New School Apparel Store – TSA (Talon School Apparel)
We’re excited to announce that we’re partnering with a new apparel company! The new store, called TSA – Talon School Apparel, will be open year-round through an online platform. Staff, parents, and community members will be able to order gear at any time, which gives us much more flexibility.
I’ll be sharing the store link with you soon. We’ll also post it on the school website and include it in the parent newsletter. To give you a better idea of the clothing options, I’ll be inviting the vendor in to showcase some of the available apparel.
This new setup should help meet all our needs—especially for families who’ve asked about ordering apparel throughout the year.
