Introducing Awesome Screenshot
You have probably heard me talk about how much I love using Screencastify to record (and edit) screencasts for presentations. I recently started using another Chrome extension called Awesome Screenshot as my favorite screenshot tool.
In our district, we all have access to the Snipping Tool on our Windows 10 computers. On my MacBook, I have a similar (but MUCH better) tool for taking screenshots. However, Awesome Screenshot beats them both if I'm taking a web-based screenshot. Not only can I annotate my screenshot with arrows, text, etc., but I can also blur parts of the image and add callouts.
Even better, the images can be saved to their cloud, meaning that I can re-access those screenshots no matter where I am! There is also an app for iOS that lets you pull in a website and have access to the same tools on your phone.
Full disclosure: I am on the "Professional" plan and have been for about a month. I did just fine with the free plan until I wanted that ability to blur.
UPDATE: Wednesday Webinars!
This summer, I'm offering a series of webinars focused on tools that can be used by anyone anywhere! Whether you have an LMS or not and regardless of what that LMS is, these webinars will highlight some of my favorite tools to use with students and teachers to help make my online environment more engaging!
All sessions are at 2pm. They will also be recorded and available for viewing at a later date.
